Ake is one of the worst “ball playing” centre backs I have ever seen. Fucking 97 touches where 1 will do.

Seeing a big weak link in him. The difference between him and Stones/Laporte is chasmic.

I think this is one of those where in the last 25 minutes Southampton are going to be dead on their feet.

Hope so but they seem to be managing their effort in bursts.

I will be very disappointed if pep doesnt change one of our midfield at half time.

We’ve been the better side, created quite a few chances and defended well. We’d most likely be winning the game comfortably if we had a striker. Many times we’ve managed to get to the byline, but nobody has made the dash towards the near post.

We need to either get Sterling more involved or replace him quickly. Southampton are pressing high up the pitch and closing us down well. It has made it difficult to play through the midfield, but there is lots of space in behind. We just need to find the free man more regularly.

Some flashes of good link up play from Raz, Bernardo, Grealish and Gabby. Still not great overall but flashes of brilliance here and there. Nonetheless, passing hasn’t been great. Gundy and Fern look off today. Hoping for better passing. If not, maybe Foden and Lavia to come on or Kevin as well. Come on lads!
