What are the chances a keeper saves a pen and keeps the ball in play, a oppo player gets the ball and finds an out ball. And they get past our defenders before Eddy gets back? Very unlikely, let Eddy take them

If he does then you stick 2 defenders on the half way line in case play continues after the penalty kick is taken
