I get the feeling Pep is the happier of the managers right now
I think any time you can continually field a team mostly of academy players against top level opposition, filled mostly of first team players, and only lose by 1 or 2 goals (sometimes on very, VERY dodgy decisions from the officials), whilst also creating a lot of chances, there is cause for real optimism.

Another friendly loss on the cards by the looks of it... the flappers aren't going to like this.

I can see them now:

Can see the post appearing next few days

The leagues over
Why did we buy mahrez
Our accademy isn't producing
Tixi out
Was domonec the true genius

And more ridiculousness

We ahve done ok today, some nice play scorelines i frielndly mean nowt imho the team is a mixed bag and some youngests will greatly benefit from this while mahrez has been able to get used to the system we play.

Those who pick half a dozen new first team players based on a friendly are just as bad as those who "flap" over losing one.

The fifth one is already written by the tabloids ready to be published if we get off to a poor start - nailed on.

What happy his £60 million signing went off with an ankle injury? I doubt it.

Shit happens and hopefully just a precaution.

I think he meant that we have been doing ok and there are some promising players on the pitch. I like the look of Bolton especially.

I imagine Riyad felt a bit uncomfortable and realised it was likely a good idea to come off, as there is nothing in this game but getting kicked (as confirmed by the officiating).

He played on, with an apparent knock to his ankle, which usually means an impact or slight roll.
