That is actually a very good point. In order to be considered "inactive" in an offside position a player must not affect play in any way. Gouffran would only meet this status if he stood completely still... Which would have blocked the ball and he would then also be offside.

Just a thought.

That's my stance on it too, the fact he HAD to move out the way means he's involved in play, he HAS to be classed as being involved.
