This just doesn't matter, though, does it? It won't impact a thing. Lots of players out there going through the motions to get minutes under their belts after being injured (Grealish, Foden, De Bruyne) or just standing in because others are being rested (Steffen, Fernandinho, Zinchenko). We've already done the hard bit by qualifying two games early. This is no different to that Shakhtar game a few years ago where Foden started at left wing-back and Aguero scored a penalty by deliberately slicing it. The complaining on here when we don't batter teams 5-0 is hilarious.
