You know what, I don’t actually think the squad is good enough anymore to juggle 4 competitions. It’s not a bad thing we won’t have to play a 2 legged semi within a couple of weeks or so. I’m not sure we could have coped with the schedule without overplaying our better players to get through.

That’s the sad truth of it.

Losing Fernandinho and Zinchenko, replacing them with Phillips and Gomez. If that’s not a calamitous drop in quality, I don’t know what is.
