Blame City.

They had £100mill+ in the transfer kitty this Summer.

Something wasn’t right, that that money wasn’t spent.
Pep not committing to extend so they thought we're not spending a shed load when a new manager might be here next summer and Txiki also leaving. A potential vacuum and uncertainty meant no signings.

The need to recruit quality full backs has been there for around 4 years. Feeling smart about getting good money from transfers doesn't equate to success on the pitch.
I repeat. Ake, Akanji and Kyle no longer good enough. JS injured more than fit and zero back up for Rodders, but hey look at all the money we made in transfers.
An extra midfiielder too. Not going to happen overnight.

They played the first half like it was City from a couple of seasons ago. And then they realised it is the marshmallow version of us.
I was ok even with 2:0, Pep prepared me for that, but the manner of that, us wobbling like a bunch of Bambis, is just disgusting.

Has it been shit week in week out the last 5 years?

Or the last 2 years? Seriously what time frame are you going off? We've got half the squad out injured, others exhausted, some out of form, none of this is normal for us. Young heads thrown into the mix and it's showing.
Stop crying for them. They have a perfectly good team out tonight and we were in full control (but failed to kill the game off) and then not once, but 3 times defended like idiots, nothing to do with exhaustion or out of form. At some stage kids have got to come into the team as they do at other clubs.

Lewis just not strong enough to play midfield. Gives the ball away to much and doesn’t seem to be aware of players coming in on him. He’s fine going forward but that’s it. Sad to say but it’s what it is
