The 2 leagues above comment is obviously exaggerated but I mean in terms of catergories of talent. We've got the generational midfield talents that are Rice, Jude, Pedri and maybe FDJ. Then world class players that have the potential to reach the top few in the world. This league is close to the best, but a step below. And then the rest. Special in certain areas and when used right are world class, but requiring a system that helps them succeed to truly flourish. I.E Paqueta, Nunes, Eze, etc.

Could tha not just be because players back off him and concentrate on the real threats ;)

Yeah they focus on Paqueta lol. No Rice is by all analytical/physical measure a unique footballer. Walks into the Arsenal team as their best player along with Saka and Saliba.

Which so happens to explain why City targeted Jude and Rice first, before settling down the list. Still class players but could be better.

He was 7th this year in progressive distance this year. Progressive carries per 90 he was 25th.
