I couldn’t care less about that. The only player who went down that path and I despise is Diego Costa.
So you're good with Jorginho, Thiago Motta, Emerson Palmieri, Eder, Pepe, Joao Pedro, Luis Felipe, Toloi, Thiago Alcantara...just messing with you...

Some of those we got very lucky to have been spared, I’ll tell you that

From what I’ve seen, can see exactly why the dippers are after him (and why he’d fit right in there), seems a bit like Kante in that he gets about the pitch very well.
I've just seen him vs Hertha Berlin. Haaland was anonymous barring his penalty which was almost saved. HOWEVER, Bellingham was the standout player.

He was a box to box midfield general who was biting in the tackle & threaded through a few delicious passes. If I didn't know any of the players on view, I'd have highlighted Bellingham & Brandt as the two players to watch. )(

Aside from Rice, I don't know enough about options for a new CDM. I hope City make a good choice and get their choice.

I've looked at a couple of youtubes of the two players and both look useful but Nunes looks more of an attacking CM; however, Dinho wasn't a CDM...
Yes Fernandinho was a converted N⁰8 box to box player who made CDM his own. Rice is a good looking option, but the money WHU want is nuts. Am I right in saying Rice is in the final 18 months of his contract?

Again, the one who stands out most to me is Aurelien Tchouameni. It's no coincidence Real, the Dippers & City have been mentioned as admirers, because the guy is that good.

HOWEVER Rice fulfils the homegrown quota which will also come in handy, plus he's known nothing other than the PL, so apart from having to order a Pickfords Van, settling & getting used to the PL shouldn't pose any major issues.

Sorry I was talking about that Touchmany fella :-)

My apologies mate. Aurelien Tchouameni is the player I want most after Haaland. He's an absolute box to box beast who's second to none in the tackle, but is also blessed with the skill & ability to drive forward & create opportunities in the opposition box.

He's got a similar stature to Pogba, he has pace, is only 21 & is apparently available at €70m. Trust me, whoever gets this guy are gonna be SERIOUSLY enhanced, including us.

He'd be more competition for Rodri as opposed to being a backup. Competition for places, with no appreciable drop off in quality is what Pep wants. If so, Rodri & Tchouameni is about as good a CDM pairing as you could get in world football.

Also, in tougher away matches, there's nothing to say they can't play as a double pivot, with one holding, if the other sees the possibility of breaking forward. )(
