I wouldn’t be surprised if we have been given the nod from Mendes that such is Wolves’ financial position they will be unable to turn down an offer around the 50 mil mark. A bit of posturing from Wolves, a few mil more from us and it will get done imo.

Of course, you are right. Having said that, the way Tolmie worded the tweet, I am inclined to believe Mendes did insert a "secret" release clause in there, hence the confidence this deal will get done. Alternatively, maybe Mendes has an agreement with Wolves saying that if a CL club comes calling, a bid of around +/- 50/55m ought to be accepted. We are speculating, but overall, it's looking increasingly likely we will be able to seal the deal soon enough.

I see in Nunes a box to box player that can be seen as a Rodri kind of type.
If Nunes comes in it’ll be the end (or has to be the end) of Philips. Unless we can’t live up to the homegrown rule, Philips need to be sold with the player wanting to move on. And a move to Wolves could actually help Philips.

Having Pep as a manager I like to think a player coming in will be even better in time. And with our great players around him it’ll get the very best out of that person. Very few exceptions prove otherwise.

A move to Wolves would not help anybody. They are in turmoil.

Actually I think Phillips is not as bad as some make out. He was unlucky last year with injuries, World Cup, and Pep settling on a preferred XI at the end of Jan. He is worth persisting with for another year and then make a decision.

Turns out Liverpool had an option to trigger a buyout clause in January for £44m but FSG did not. Weird purchase by Wolves to let him go Pool in a few months, since it did not materialize not surprised we’ve bid close to £55m as a total package. Sounds fair considering what he could have gone for. Should just go up to £60m max

If people were swooning over D.Rice then they should pull down their pants for him. He`s more talented & has a better all around skill set than Rice. Mendez has so much leverage over Wolves that he should deliever him for £55-60m.

Whereas I am happy waiting for a top player such as Wirtz, Pep thinks he can turn Nunes into a world-class CM, so that's good enough for me. We will go for Wirtz next year.

Wirtz will have been tapped up long ago by Bayern, I’d be amazed if he doesn’t pitch up there.

I do remember he was a dynamic midfielder in Germany, all 6ft 4 and a half of him.

Leslie kept him in midfield but Bobby Manc moved him to CB. VK was said to prefer midfield.

I agree with Bravo, we wanted and needed someone like him, and once he was no longer number one actually played well when called on.
Didn't play well but essential to our playing method.
Not so sure about Nolito, possibly something wrong with his attitude. Played some decent games but then never reappeared for us.

Nolito was said to be very homesick.
