Quite relaxed about this. Cheeky loves an exit clause. We seem to be happy dealing with the Portuguese agent. It will have probably smoothed over Cancelo exit. It'll be done next week I'd be fairly sure. The company who have a share in wolves also have a share in the Portuguese agency. Wolves are a conveyor belt......

All arguments aside, this window we have signed:
Kova, experienced, reliable, good price.
Gvardiol, potential world class defender/midfielder, young.
Doku, highly talented, young, looks just right for Pep’s coaching to bring out the best.
Sold off some good young players because you can’t keep them all. Tons of incoming £s.
Plus Cancello probably gone.
Re-signed Bernado and Kyle.
Ok, lost a couple of gems but time waits for no man.
Remember the bad old days and be happy.

I quite miss the likes of Steve Sidwell turning us down.

you'll get nowhere with reasoned well thought points on here mate

Of course, you are right. Having said that, the way Tolmie worded the tweet, I am inclined to believe Mendes did insert a "secret" release clause in there, hence the confidence this deal will get done. Alternatively, maybe Mendes has an agreement with Wolves saying that if a CL club comes calling, a bid of around +/- 50/55m ought to be accepted. We are speculating, but overall, it's looking increasingly likely we will be able to seal the deal soon enough.
Doubt TH knows any more that he’s already said. He’s trying to grow his brand, why would he not put out there what he has been told?

Yes. I only call in about once a year, too much like the politics thread for me.
if you want to get some traction, you have to go with nunes is the worst player ever, kovacic is too old and a chelsea flop, gvardiol aint as good as maguire and doku is just the new traore and all of them are miles better than kalvin phillips who is absolutely the worst player ever to walk the earth.

I remember his team mate steed malbranque doing the same and I hated him for it.
Gave him shit for years afterwards.
I'll always remember that headline on the BBC text "Man City bid £5m for Steed Malbranque".
Sitting in the sitting room thinking "Holy fuck we've bid that amount of money for a player"....Little **** turned us down then!

Fair enough. I wasn't on here at the time but it wouldn't have surprised me.

My only issue with Phillips is whether he's blocking someone else coming in. I'm happy for him to stay and see out the contract we decided to give him but we also need a genuine rotation option with Rodri.
I was all for the wait and see approach with KP until the opener against Burnley where Pep made 5 subs in a 3 nil match but yet chose not to bring him on and give Rodri a break even with the Sevilla and Newcastle games coming up within the week. It couldn't be more obvious than that that Pep does not rate him or see him as being up to the task.

I have a feeling that if we bring in Nunes KP will be out the door either on loan or on a permanent move. City don't want to seem even more vulnerable at HM before a move for Nunes is completed...JMO

If people were swooning over D.Rice then they should pull down their pants for him. He`s more talented & has a better all around skill set than Rice. Mendez has so much leverage over Wolves that he should deliever him for £55-60m.
This is so wrong in so many ways. Rice is way more talented and it's mostly due to his better all around skill set. Nunes' best trait is probably his ability to glide by people with deceiving pace for his size and progress the ball through dribbling. Rice literally was the best player in world football for that last season. Progressed the ball more than any other player in Europe. So Rice is better than Nunes at what Nunes does best. Essentially all other categories Rice is superior too. Rice and Bellingham are 2 leagues ahead of any other midfield target we've had this window once they were sold.

Just because we didn't sign Rice, doesn't mean we need to be silly and pretend Matheus Nunes is better. Generational talent vs a good utility/squad player. Would still love Nunes but c'mon.
