Matt Hancock

This thread needs to go underground never to be seen again or we’ll end up in a jam.

Later in the song the lyric is changed to ‘the public want what the public gets’ whic seems to me to be a reference to the kind of moronic crap like ‘love island‘ and of course ‘I’m a celeb’ which is put in front of, and consumed avidly by, large numbers of less discerning viewers, who enjoy vacuous trash like this and believe what is put in front of them by cynical bastards like Hancock who is simply exploiting their gullibility.
And they love it.
How else could you find people actually sympathising and supporting a liar and con-man who is responsible for a series of fatal mistakes in his professional career?
Weller in the day was a master wordsmith using word play

End of first verse -
And the public gets what the public wants
But I want nothing this society's got

End of second verse -
And the public wants what the public gets
But I don't get what this society wants

I have no idea where he thinks he his heading - maybe he has an eye on Portillos TV giggs and thinks he can do something like that. But I just don't think he gets it how much people hate him.
But still voted him third on that ridiculous popularity contest.
