De light is the best choice, but not with Raiola. If we give in to the wage demands it could upset the wage structure of the team. Look at United and how the rest of the team look at Sanchez's salary. I don't think we'd be willing to go that route tbh.

Because it will be like that. De Ligt wants to follow De Jong, it's Barca only. Would've liked him at City but he won't sign for us. The reason he still didn't sign for them is purely because of Riaola. Barca doesn't want to pay that money so Riaola is looking for other clubs to create some leverage on them. And I don't want this to be another Isco saga. He did exactly the same thing. Raiola is a **** and the club needs to stay far away from him.

That is no reason for us messing up our structure,we just won the treble and back to back titles,you don't mess with team dynamic by bringing in a kid that is on more money than our exsisting kids,to fear another team getting a player when we are the best is daft

You still haven't said what has made you change your attitude about going for him, the very same day?

We are messing with the team, by letting VK and Ota go.

Have you seen what he has achieved at such a young age, he is that exceptional.

If a young Messi was available would you have the same attitude?

You need to read the text, the answer is just for grabbing. De Ligt is absolutely a great signing but the amount of commission Raiola is after it's not going to happen. Also de Ligt prefers Barca.

I think we will go for Maguire. TBH, I would be disappointed with him as whenever I have seen him play, he just hasn't impressed. Hope I am wrong though.

Fair point.
But we don't know his wage demands. At the moment it's just media speculation.
Pep has some serious pull with Ajax players. (He is seen as the spirtual successor to Cruyff.)
So does Barcelona mind.

We have had a brilliant season, but we are letting two top class defenders go. We could be massively weaker next season.

I accept De Ligt's first choice is Barca, but he's young enough to give 4-5 years at another club and transfer to Barca later, particularly if it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to play for Pep, the world's best manager. I'm sure VK was on very generous wages, footballers should be paid for their talent, not their age, and De Ligt is exceptional.
 
If we want a bang average homegrown CB why not just go for Nathan Aké? He's left footed like reports said that we wanted and he can play left back. Probably a lot cheaper than maguire, and he's probably tired of being the only defender in Bournemouth capable of defending

I think he will go Barca but let’s throw are hat in the ring anyway

Give our best offer and if it is better than Barca’s who knows.

I would certainly not give Barca a free run at the kid and if we are used and it just helps him get a higher salary etc. Well thats more money on Barca’s wage bill!
