Maxi decided to leave Atletico too late, he should have been playing for a big team after he scored that cracker in the world cup, now its too late. I'm pretty sure Forlan will follow his lead soon and hopefully El Kun wont waist his career there either.
 
The Liverpool fans rate Riera as world class. Having seen him play for city and us rejecting him for £1.5 million despite being shit I find this most amusing. Very average mid - lower half prem player.

Maxi, well hes free and 30 it says quite alot really. Compared to SWP, Petrov, Bellamy, Robinho this guy is not fit to clean the toliets at city these days.
 
Its simple - Maxi Rodriguez is ten times the player Lucas is.

Would have been a good signing for squad depth, but we move on.

Haha, yeah dont get how anyone could rate Riera as anything other than average. Like you said, we rejected him when we were mid-low table and could have signed him for £1.5 million says it all.
 
he's a very good player, to say he's done very little is a bit odd. He was good for atletico!

Lets us not forget he played opposite flank to our own martin petrov, and also suffered a similar long term injury.

I think it will turn out to be one decent bit of business rafa has done in some time!
