i see your reasoning mate, and theres plus and negatives to each argument......... like i said in an ideal world pac really is clean and simply that good. As for the fight happening? all depends on the politics, personally i don't see Bob Arum risking his cash cow as it would end some of pacs mystique, he generates more ppv viewers back home than any other fighter in there respective countries, simply put pac is a goldmine, risking his reputation not only in the ring but also out of it, something mayweather would exploit to the core. He would constantly bring into doubt pacs integrity, and the key being he would win the psychological war before lacing the gloves, he's a master at it. How many times you seen a pac opponent slag him off? he's generally accepted as a nice guy, how does he react to criticism? he'd simply lose this fight before it began.
As for my fav fighter mate,
Hagler- best finisher ever in my opinion.
Whitaker- oozed class, mayweather himself models his style on him.
Calzaghe - greatest british boxer of all time and up there with the best ever middleweights
duran - absolute warrior
Lewis - last great heavyweight champion, severely underrated.
Just looked back on here.
Hagler for me also same reasons ruthless with serious intent.
Calzaghe just got better with age and experience on e of the few fighters that could make class fighters look real bad. underatted for many years simply because nobody in his class around to challenge him.
Heavywieghts have been a bit dissapointing these past few years. On great champions a mentally stable fit Tyson would have stayed unbeaten in my view awesome speed and power but I suppose that mad side made him such an animal in the ring he really looked like he wanted to do serious damge.
I've always had a soft spot for nigel benn a great british fighter who was labled a banger but people underestimted his boxing and his performance against Gerald McClellan who could bang them out proved many doubters about his chin and heart it was an absolute war, shame how it turned out for McClellan.
Zim can you guess who I think could have been up there at the top of my list if he took his boxing more serious than his activites out of the ring ?
Of all the boxers I've seen he was probably IMO one of the most naturaly gifted to lace up gloves. His usual training regime was a few drinks, smoking loads and just to help alot of partying this stopped about 24 hours before a fight. He did seriously train for one fight early 80s and pulled major upset made a great warrior/fighter look real bad.Shame really IMO he could have been up there with the best of all time, not of only british boxing but the world.
Of the fight the other night it went as we all thought mosely had a slim chance when he caught floyd but couldn't quite catch him again in that second.
Class showed in the end and they should have pulled shane out after 8.
Floyd as always had that in him to go on the front foot and dominate a fight but hasn't really needed to,but he realised letting shane be the aggreessor he could have been caught again so putting him on the back foot for a few rounds took that bit of power away, mosley could'nt cope and I didn't really enjoy the last few rounds they should have got him out of there.
If the pac fight happens and floyd fights like that from the first belll it will be some fight for a few rounds and after seeing floyd look just as good on the front foot I could see it being real trouble for pac.Pac would have to have some real power in the punch to stop floyd from dominating.
Fingers crossed
