McDonalds struggling

If you don't like McDonalds, do use them. Pretty simple really.
The internet would have you thinking their food is harmful and ultra low quality.
Pretty much like the countless fake KFC images showing gods knows what.

The reality is very different.
I've been doing research for over a year now as i'm re-training to open a cafe/diner.
Through that, i have been spending a lot of time on all the successful food outlets. I've been replicating many menu items just to get into the swing of things.
The recurring theme is that they cannot afford to mess up using low quality ingredients. Most of their savings seem to be by sourcing ingredients in bulk. Then trying to make extra money by selling side items at increasingly higher prices.

McDonalds problem is that they exploited Covid and pushed up their prices. Instead of responding to the market, they kept the prices high and hoped messing around with the menus would hide it. Well it didn't work. People are not stupid.
What was once a cheap way of feeding your kids/family is now a treat item.

These titans of food and like many in the car industry just cannot adapt quick enough to new trends. They cannot seem to accept that sometimes reversing prices has to be done to survive.
VW, BMW, Ford will be wiped out by Chinese EV brands soon. They have been at the top so long that they thought they were too big to fail. Well like the Rags, we know different!
Nailed it there fella. Bravo.

Can't believe how these mammoth firms think we are stupid. The general public now are getting wiser and wiser every day. Especially now that your hard earned doesn't go as far as it used to. People are savvy nowadays.

Another outlet I won't have an ounce of sympathy for if they go bust. I would feel sorry for the staff though at the inevitable job losses.

I worked at McDonald's for 6 years when I was at college and uni.
The processes they have in place to make everything as easy as possible for you (to speed you up) and reduce waste are fantastic.
If anyone visits McDonald's and KFC, look at how little the McDonald's staff move compared to the ones in KFC who are always running all over the place. In McDonald's everything the staff need is within arms reach.

Those of a certain vintage will remember the original 'Wimpy Bars' as they were called. Note that Wimpy claim to have introduced the UK to the American hamburger we know it today. At one time, there was one on every high street though I believe that only about 60 now remain. Back in the day, it was more of a traditional cafe serving 'chips with everything' plated meals which included the Wimpy Grill with their trademark semi-circular sausage known as a 'bender' (I'm not making this up). Try asking for a bender in McDonald's! As a taster (pun intended), check out the menu below.

Had a dbl quarter pounder on Tue afternoon. Motorway service station, hungry, not much on offer, took my chances. All day Weds - liquid revenge. Could be coincidence but after seeing the e-coli reports it could have been a mild dose. Can't prove it mind.

I think with COVID, it dropped their profit margins to an unacceptable level more than anything else. The business was still sustainable, but their share price took a hit.

I couldn't believe the bloody queues at McDonalds drive thru when they were open during COVID. I drove past the one in Crown Point Denton and there must have been 150 cars queuing all the way down the road! I've eaten the odd burger and fries at motorway services and they've never been what you'd call tasty.

I'm sorry, but if you prefer a burger from McDonalds rather than the mince from any local butcher or a very reputable restaurant then there must be something seriously wrong with your palate.
