I'll post some further details soon but wanted to give Bluemooners early notice that the MCFC 125 celebration event I've been organising with the MCFC OSC is now live. There are discounts for members of the MCFC OSC (see listing for codes - https://www.thedancehouse.co.uk/events/2019/228-mcfc-125 ).

I’ll issue more details soon but the basic idea is that the first half focuses on the origins of MCFC through to winning the FAC in 1904 and then second half is about the role Supporters have played in MCFC’s history (I’ll be talking about chants, the OSC being 70, crowds, Maine Rd matchday rituals etc.).

Anyway tickets are on sale now. Feel free to spread the word ASAP. Thanks Gary

Incidentally, the meeting to formally create MCFC was held on Thursday 12th April 1894 - this is the closest Thursday to that anniversary.

Looking forward to it, but it may clash with a Champions League Quarter Final match - First Legs are Tuesday 9th / Wednesday 10th April.

Obviously not a problem if we are at home but if we're away it may affect numbers.

We wanted to ensure it was on a Thursday (no CL) night close to the original date of the meeting (12th April 1894). That Thursday was about the only one we could guarantee there wouldn't be a first team fixture. I totally agree that Wednesday night many fans could be in mainland Europe but we were stuck for dates beyond that. I'm hoping we have a CL game at home on Wednesday night of course.

Over 80 tickets gone already: https://www.thedancehouse.co.uk/events/2019/228-mcfc-125

The first half will primarily focus on the origins of the club; its bid to represent all of Manchester; the first major trophy. The second half will focus on supporters, crowds, attendances, match day at Maine Road etc. The idea is that this is a celebration of City on the closest Thursday to the club's official launch meeting as MCFC (that was held on 12 April 1894; the talk is on 11 April 2019). So come along and celebrate City and what makes City special.
