If we build top class academies in all these countries then we could be on the verge of absolutely revolutionising football, hopefully that's the plan rather than just an attempt to get new fans (which is always a bonus)

Two large academies one in India and the other in SE Asia I heard a few weeks ago

It might be Shanghai Dongya, the red coloured club of the three Shanghai teams.

ticks all the boxes, 7 year old club. Made their way from div 2 to the top super league. Attendance 10,000 / game average, but an 80,000 capacity stadium. Namesake is the sponsor, which would make it a cakewalk to rename it to the CFG purpose.

The other two clubs are bigger and more established but may have more resistance to change.

Stop taking the piss out of Yaya

If it's about academies, surely a club or two in South America have to be on the shopping list.
Slightly less to be gained there as they already have a lot of impressive academies over there. In the countries we've invested in, we would be the standout academy and attract all the best young players, offering vastly improved training and facilities

Fair point but the standard of player and leagues is currently lower. Of course our owners think longer term than the fans so you may well be right. Hard to comprehend the magnitude of what is happening !

China will one day be huge in football I reckon. And Shanghai is a great City, really pleased if this comes off.

our india academy plan was relatively known in 2010 along with the rooftop pitch in the states

"The team would change colours, name and marketing strategy," according to GDTV today.

Not sure I like football coverage here in China.
