Not a City related song this, but there was a 70s referee by the name of Roger Kirkpatrick, an officious prick if ever there was. Amongst his most memorable of features was his shiny bald head.
We were playing at Sheffield United one Saturday and there were collective groans when we saw his name as referee in the program but for the first half he gave us everything of which we failed to accept. The second half he reverted to type and gave us nothing.
From a first half of adulation, our fans changed the wording of a Mungo Jerry song to "He's a bald headed bustard dressed in black. Dressed in black dressed in black dressed in black black black. Needless to say we weren't rewarded for our ingenuity.
