MCFC Songs and Chants thread

Last night I heard Man City singing a song

Ooh we, Cherki, Cherki, cheep, cheep

Woke up this morning and United were gone

Ooh we, Cherki, Cherki, cheep, cheep
Cherki, Cherki, cheep, cheep chirp

Where's United gone? (where's United gone?)
not bad at all....

Seeing as though it’s that time of year, I think we all need to channel our inner Shakin’ Stevens and give this banger an airing:

“Haaland’s scoring, all around us,
Cherki’s playing, having fun,
Tis the season, we’ll be champions of England,
Ruben Dias,
Gvardiol”
Well done sir.

Despite having been a fully paid up member of the Shakey fan club as a nine year old, I was fully expecting that to be shit.

Liverpool orphans will have us for tragedy chanting.

‘The Boys In Blue’ is played about 10-15 minutes before kick off just before the teams are read out. Annoyingly, it always seems to be cut short by an advert on the screens.

And it’s also played as the team does their lap of honour thanking the fans that have stayed after the game.

I think it should be played when we come out at the start of games rather than 15-mins before, instead of ‘Hey Jude’, which has now just become a country-wide generic song (even if we did sing it first). Brentford do ‘Hey Jude’ much better than us these days, and Newcastle use it and their fans join in more than we do n’all.

I love ‘The Boys In Blue’, it’s better than ‘Blue Moon’. No idea why we don’t sing the chorus as a chant during games.

City (clap clap clap)
Manchester City
We are the lads who are playing to win
City (der der der der der)
The Boys In Blue never give in

City (clap clap clap)…
REPEAT
Great song. I had the single. Related to older times but is still just as relevant. Think some younger fans might not know all the words. We need to get it going as our main theme.

It's not mine to be fair - I saw someone stick the words up on a WhatsApp group the other week when I was on my way to Newcastle - but I thought it was decent enough to give it a wider audience
