MCFC Ticket Prices

Do you have to have a membership first before you can buy tickets? I was unaware of that. Happy enough with £600 interest free for my seasoncard in 116. Good view and decent people around me.

As has n even said it's thirty quid for WHU. Yet you trotted out the "that's not many seats" and "it's an evening kick off". Look if you don't want to go then don't go, end of. Instead complaining about something that isn't as you describe it.

Tomorrow night the current champions of Italy are playing the second placed team of England. You can get tickets for £30 and under 16s for a fiver. Yet last week Crewe were charging £22.50 for a League Two game.
Get a sense of perspective and just accept you don't really want to go and it's a convenient excuse that City are overcharging, or the kick off times are all wrong.
However I agree that a membership card to buy tickets is ludicrous, however I think it's done to stop away fans from getting tickets in the home end.

.....and the membership card gives you a £5 discount on the match day ticket so pays for itself in just seven games.

I didn't realise that, but I don't buy one.
So when the OP is doing his calculations and adding on the cost of the membership card to the overall price, therefore inflating the cost, he should be really leaving it as cost neutral, until after seven games when it begins to save you money?

The OP opines for cheaper tickets, somewhere between £20 to £25 and yet last week he could have bought a seasoncard for just £299, less than the price is advocating.
It's all about personal circumstances and opinion, but I'd rather go and watch the game live than spend the money in the pub.
Spent more than I should on Saturday drinking and eating down at Palace and on the train home so probably won't go to the pub before the game on Tuesday for more food and drink.
I'll go and watch the EDS for free, take something to eat at the Academy and then wander over, have a pint and watch the big boys play.
Don't forget there's no Alcohol sales in the ground on European nights mate .

My pint will be in City Square
Learnt that lesson long ago, dashed from work to get to one of the Europa games about six years ago.
Gasping for a pint and a chicken balti pie, thought it would be heaven. Till the girl behind the bar says there's no alcohol and we've sold out of pies, fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!

Ha Ha why twist what I have said ,how do you know I don't really want to go & am trotting out excuses ,I am merely pointing out that many fans now chose to watch the game in the pubs & those fans should be encouraged with discounted offers to return .tomorrow night is a great example of how City get it right a lot of the time .at least we agree about the membership card lol

Yes, it's £5.00 discount on tickets and a book of vouchers with other discounts. Also with regards booking fee, there isn't one if you book online.

If it goes to general sale you don't need a citizen card. Before I got my seasoncard this year I was just buying match by match tickets when they went to general sale online.

Great comeback
You're financial and logistical points have all been shown to be incorrect
When posters have pointed out that seasoncards are less than the price you are advocating you belittle it a small gesture.

Seems to be you think City should be giving them to you as you'd rather spend your money in the pub.
It's your right to spend your money how you feel and if you'd rather watch it in the pub than be there then that's your prerogative but to bemoan City and their pricing is a cheap shot. Enjoy the pub and your meal.

I agree 100% with you. But the club aren't bothered; they'll fill most of those seats in every PL game. It's sad, but the bottom line is money these days. As I said earlier, why would the club kiss godbye to a substantial amount of money each home game, just to appease those "new/casual" fans you mention?
The club cannot afford to sell seats too cheaply, Twatini has seen to that - we have to generate as much income as possible to meet his ffp requirements, which means even though our owners would probably want to charge lower prices they simply cannot afford to, just another example of the shit that is ffp. To be fair to City I was able to get my lads season tickets for £125 each which is fantastic value, as is the cup games kids for a quid/fiver.

IMO Citys Season Card prices are VERY good in comparison with others around us, the match day prices could at times be a tadge lower but then the club need to think about the SeasonCard holders who have committed for the full season and may not be best pleased to see " 1 game a season fans " get to watch that game for less than a seasoncard holder pays..

You say that you would'nt pay X amount to watch Leicester, Stoke etc etc as you can get that for free in a pub, my guess is you would'nt pay anything for those games and still go to the pub too watch it. As someone pointed out you go as a fan to watch YOUR club NOT other clubs. Getting home at 5am from West Brom on a Monday night is what its all about.

Perhaps some of the prices for the lower category games could be looked at. I paid £38 for a ticket for the Watford game; now higher prices can be justified for the likes of the games against Chelsea, Arsenal Spurs, Liverpool and the vermin. But I thought it was a bit steep for that calibre of opposition. I wouldn't expect prices like the OP was looking for (£20-25); that ain't going to happen. But somewhere around £32-35 would be a more reasonable level for the "less attractive" games. Just a thought.

If you're that bothered about ticket prices, why don't you go to EDS matches?
They are what, £3 or something?
They've been FREE in the past for myself as a season ticket holder.

The quality of football to watch is good.... Plus you'll be informing everyone in your local boozer of who this "" mystery"" man Ineanacho is as you've been watching him for the past few years ;)

OK I Think it great that some whu are £30 ,but if I wanted to get one I would have to pay for a citizen card £30 & a booking fee .plus whu is an evening kick off . don't get me wrong I think city are doing great in most respects regarding ticket prices ,but many more should & could be cheaper

but you do get £5 off ticket price for 6 games which gets you £30 back

Ok Squirty this is all getting very uncomfortable but I could not agree more.

The fact is the OP has chosen to spend his money in the pub. Of course that is his perogative but then to blame the club is pretty poor in my opinion. Its the same arguments ive heard from reds for years, complaining at ticket prices but spending an equal amount of money in the boozer. Be honest OP you just prefer the pub.

Football for me is about emotional attachment. The more you put in the more you get out. Moments like Aguero mean so much more if you have put the hard yards in, watched the Barry Conlons, seen us lose at some god forsaken places.

Financially watching football is a struggle at times but like you it would be last social thing I would give up. Ive never had a night in a pub which has matched beating united at wembley, Aguero, Stoke to name but a few.

Earlier on in the season I got on my high-horse about the relocations in level 2. I was completely wrong in my criticisms of the club. I have benefitted by a £299 season card and I could not be mote grateful. Its the only way I could afford to go due to the travel expenses I accumulate.

Were watching the best players, in a world class stadium at ridiculously competitive prices and to suit nearly all budgets. For 16 pound a match I am watching players and a team I and others will be talking about in thirty years. As a fan base we are blessed.

Thirty quid for west ham this week Jim

Yeah, I saw that sf; can't make it this week (looking at Norwich at the end of october or the Mickeys a few weeks later). It begs the question though; since when were West Ham a (presumably) less attractive game than Watford? Odd.
Or perhaps City listening to the punters or changing market forces
But thirty quid for a top team like City when it's over twenty in the lower leagues is brilliant

Mine is 700 a year , 700 over 12 months which I save up for is not much 58 pound a month

I cut back on sky , might stay in few times instead of going out

Probably because it follows a CL game. Some regulars may be a bit brassic, and isn't it on TV? Would be natural to give this a swerve for a few.
