MCFC Women Sign Izzy Christiansen

If "stupid woman" gets a warning should'nt "sad bastards" ?

No, you completely missed the context. And any questions on moderation can be PM'ed to Ric or kept to yourself. Not posted in a thread.

I sure she could have change her top, there must have been a few City shirts knocking about that she could have just slipped on for the photo

Bearing in mind that there are a lot of fans who will not even allow anything red to enter their house, I'd say yes there are quite a few who aren't happy about it.

That said, it is rather a case of "get over it, move on" here.

Heck, it isn't even Izzy who did this. This thread is getting completely sidetracked.
Sad bastards.

A guy i know won't allow his kids to say the word red in any context. They have to spell it out instead, like "pass the r-e-d sauce please dad"

can't they just ask for the tomato sauce like a normal person would?

It wasn't some official team photo, she had just walked in to what looks like the changing rooms from working at United and somebody else took a picture of her posing, tweeted it and deleted it about a minute later.

We are literally slagging somebody off because they wore something with a United badge on it whilst working at United. This is the stupidest conversation in the history of this forum.

Did you read what PB wrote?

She works for United. She's a Coventry fan.

She probably didn't expect any reaction from City fans because the idea that she cannot play for City Women and also work for United's community programs to teach kids football is so childish that it probably never occurred to her.

Now knowing she works for them I apologise for saying in that thread she'd be out the door straight away if I had my way. I didn't know they worked other jobs. Whoever posted it originally should have thought about people's reactions first though or at least point out its her job.

I would have immediately said the same if any of the male 1st team had been pictured the same though. If someone posts a picture most of us post first before asking questions.

By the way a Womens MCFC sub-forum would be a great idea, we have an EDS/academy one so why not a womens too?

End of the day, the facts are this: the girl is a Coventry fan, she was doing charity and community work, it just happens that this work involves wearing a Un*ted top, her friend took a photo of her - tweeted it - and swiftly deleted it.

It wasn't her who took the photo, I find it hard to believe that she then demanded her friend to tweet it. What I do believe is that she demanded her friend to delete it. A sign of respect, not disrespect.

If you really want to point fingers, get in a time machine and start pointing fingers at those young lads who used to play for us who were tweeting about the scum and laughing at City.

I shudder at the responses if I started posting about linking-up with UNC or Stamford and posting videos of promising juniors and seniors, or women from the US that might be worth enquiring about. Oh, hang on...

Come on City...get in.
<a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Carolina_Tar_Heels_women's_soccer" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Caro ... n's_soccer</a>

Surely it would be better to link up with

<a class="postlink" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Blue_FC" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Blue_FC</a>

That said, City have already hinted that they intend to create a women's team affiliated to NYCFC.

Absolutely, but Sky Blue are pro. UNC are college. I was thinking of getting in at a "lower" level. For instance, Tobin Heath plays for Sky Blue (she went to UNC) and the US national team, I doubt we'll ever see her wearing a City shirt. We could do both, Sky Blue and UNC. I would :-) but I just fantasize about spending other peoples money. UNC are the most successful women's football program in the US by a country mile. It depends how serious City are, and how serious women's football in the UK is going to be taken / whether it's going to be given a chance to be taken seriously. It needs regular, ordinary, TV exposure, something still lacking imo in the US. Like a lot of things, people just need to get into it.

here, read this:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/City-Women-news/2014/January/Betsy-Hassett-blog" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/City-Women-n ... ssett-blog</a>

We've got to be FLEXIBLE and stop it with the negative waves...

Agree with that.

There's a video of Miss Christiansen on the link Damocles posted in the OP. If you watch the video it is quite plain that when the question of the rags comes up she looks quite sheepish. Anyway, focus on the FACT that a rag scout came into her school and got her. Where was the City scout? Day off or non-existent or just unlucky?

Hi, can I just clarify as one of the players what occurred. Em as already pointed out works in the community for Man U and had come from work. Several of us have full time jobs and juggle this with full time training.

Someone took a pic of Em prior to her getting changed as a joke and tweeted. No harm was meant by it and they never imagined that it would cause such upset. Em is gutted by what has happend since. As confirmed Em is a Coventry fan who just happens to work for Man United. She does sown sterling work in the community and you could not wish to meet a nicer girl.

Em is extremely proud to represent City and has probably worked harder than most to make the squad.

I am the only blue in the squad and probably the only one with a full understanding of the feelings City fans have towards our red neighbours so please don't hold this against her. We are all part of the City family and are thankful for your support.

Cheers
