Mcr > Blackpool bike ride

Considering I've just got home, and dawn is breaking, it's safe to say "I'm out" for this bike ride.

Come on then... who enjoyed themselves today?

I saw one dead cat.

I couldn't get my usual bacon butty at Haigh Hall.

There was no ice cream van at Preston Dock.

I got absolutely pissed wet through at Lytham and the wind nearly blew me back to Preston.

My arse feels like its done 10 rounds with Cheeses of Nazareth.

But I saw quite a lot of camel toes.... can't wait for next year.

We did it - me and my eldest daughter (aged 14). Total cycling time 4hrs 40mins and 12 secs. Distance 62.91 miles. We got to St Annes and the rain started so no complaints really. My daughter is aching all over and rubbing her knee still as I type. But I am so proud of her, and she raised nearly £300 for Christies too!

Did it for the first time today, set off at six thirty and finished at 10:15. Thought it was pretty well organised and well marshalled but a little flat at the finish, and we had to start from the dump which made me feel nauseous before setting off!

Just to be a smart arse cycled back to Mcr so a round trip of 128 miles. If anyone would care to donate towards Christies , a very worthy cause I would be very grateful. My just giving page is;

As an ex member of HM Forces now with a son serving I'm next doing Lands End to John O'Groats in support of Help for Heroes just before the new season.

I saw the cat too, plus a few hedgehogs.
Pedal broke with 7 miles to go so had to get rescued :(
In a hot bath now

I was walking this morning as the ride was happening.

Didn't have a clue it was such a big ride, never seen so many bikes in my life.

And I saw the dead cat too, awful!

It was fuckin horrible.

Not been on a bike for 10 years, did it on a mountain bike with nobbly tires and a concrete seat. Never again.

I saw a dead cat, my arse feels like i've been fingered off an elephant, i got wet, i got blown around by gale force winds, it was all uphill, i wanted to cry when i hit the hill at lytham with the hurricane winds blowing back to manchester and then to top it off i finished and had to ride 5 miles to the fuckin train station where they would only let 6 bikers on each train regardless of whether you had booked a ticket for a specific train or not.

Never again, it was torture
