MCSFC - Manchester City supporters football club

Calling all city fans who like to play football,

My name is Tommy Dawson and i have started a Manchester City supporters football club. We will be entering the IFA league (Internet football association) as of next season which includes supporters teams from all across the country. We will be looking to play home and away fixtures. Not every team is represented in the league but it does have the likes of Preston, Bury, Stoke, Man United, Afc Marine to name but a few. We are also playing in a worldnet tournament in July on the 20th and 21st July at Uclan, Preston which will include the majority of supporters teams with some travelling down from scotland and staying over.

The league is played in really good spirit and does it's best to bring fans together and no matter how competitve it gets on the pitch we join the team we have played in a local pub afterwards!

The standard is that you would expect to find in Sunday league/pub leagues but not as cynical and played in a lot better spirit. We have a squad of around 20 players at the moment but are always inviting new players down even if its just for the training sessions.

The next two weeks are confirmed as training sessions and are both being held at Platt Lane in the white dome next to the main car park. We do get charged for using the facility so its £5 per player and any money left over will go towards kit on matchday or towards training equipment. Training is this saturday 20/04/13 and next sunday 28/04/13 both starting at 1pm.

If you would like any further information, feel you could help towards sponsorship or anything else please feel free to contact me.

Thanks to all involved who have already lent their support. Ric from bluemoon forum included.

May sound stupid but what age group? might come down to the next training session

Age group is open mate- we have lads as young as 16 and think the oldest is 37. Average age of about 23/24.

Anybody welcome! Feel free to come to training and see what you think.

Training this Saturday and sunday both start 1pm for at least an hour. Its at Platt Lane in the white aabar dome next to the main car park. Its £5 to cover the pitch hire and any extra goes towards kit and equipment for the team and training.

Cheers,
Tommy.

Ha! If a skill level is based 1-5 with 5 being Messi and 1 being a lad and dad kickabout id say we were between 2 and 2.5? Haha, very hard to answer but been asked that question the most.

The lads we have currently can all play a bit and id say if you are interested in games you need to be capable of a 90 minute game on 11aside without collapsing! If its just training you want to come to its a little bit more laid back.

We have a squad of about 30 currently with every position covered but players are not always available every week due to playing for other teams or other engagements. Some injuries have seen us lose a couple over the last few weeks aswell.

Will allow new players down probably until the start of our season at the end of july and then look at the squad and if we have enough to see us through the season. Anybody is always welcome to attend training.

Tommy.

Training consists of a warm-up and stretch, then a passing or shooting football drill followed by a game.

We may only have an hour so its hard to fit anymore than that in. Most people would prefer to have a game so try not to make it to taxing.

Please feel free to come down. Its on 3G and a fiver each mate. Inside aswell if it rains!

-- Tue Jun 11, 2013 5:17 pm --

Anybody interested in training and then playing for us, I would advise to follow us on twitter. As I have several formats to relay the information, ive found twitter is the best way to ask for player availability for upcoming games and training and to keep track.
