Media bias against City

Falcao is being sent back to Monaco after failing to discover his form according to Sky.

Remember that and compare it to the way they will report the Jovetic or Dzeko exists this summer.

The same as City ruined the careers of young English players Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair while Wilfried Zaha didn't have the 'right attitude' at the rags.

Last on soccer extra on sky
No mention of joe
Sergio only in top 3 strikers in the league
List of all the players we have brought with how much they cost and saying none have been in the first team

I rest my case for today

I'm not sure they ever do any research at all,no better than reading off the autocue

I really do think that people are arguing about different things on this thread and its just about terminology and the use of the word "agenda"

There is definitely an agenda e.g. a planned and discussed approach by a number of disparate parties to slow down City and this is serious as it involves national and international organisations and rivals and involves FFP we have beaten them they know it hence there revision of the rules

To suggest that there is not a media bias and that all the examples of bias in this thread are "perceived injustices" against City is delusional IMHO. It is not an agenda e.g. a planned and discussed approach by a number of disparate parties to slow down City but it is the approach that a number of different outlets have taken for their own individual agenda's. Some have done it for revenue online outlets and Talksport and some journalists have done it for personal bias but until writing postive articles about us generates as many clicks as writing a negative one then it is likely to continue

It pays the media to criticise City. Do that and fans from our rivals will click write a positive article and only we will click. Talksport constantly talk about United, Liverpool and Arsenal why because they know who are likely to phone in and so generate income.

Look at the MEN website on the left there is a section with most read articles to day it states

Most Read in Sport

Now if any of us were in charge of that paper whose customer base would you want to keep happy City or United

It doesn't make it right but it does make it understandable and as City fans who like me use News Now to get articles to read about my club it is frustrating. It is frustrating because the media do not know what our club is doing or more likely don't care and to read the tired old cliches such as the Talksport article about our season and it immediately states our "expensively assembled side" you know they have no understanding about the club and what it has done over the past 2 years

So lets just use the right terminology there is an agenda at the top level, there is a bias within the media

After all the arguments and counter arguments and accusations on this thread I think this post sums up exactly what is going on in the wider world of football and journalism. I have never posted in this thread before as it can be a little inflammatory and does tend to repeat itself but this post just got to me as it explains everything I feel about football today, what I'm most upset about is that now the only time I can enjoy football is when I'm at the game, as a season ticket holder this does mean I get to enjoy a fair few games, however if we're away and I have to watch it on TV we have to deal with the idiot pundits spouting the same old tired nonsense. Match of the Day was once a small enjoyment but that pleasure has now been taken away from me by even more shite and bile coming out of the telly on a Saturday or Sunday evening, why can they never tell me anything interesting or point out things that I may have missed at the match, surely all these ex player pundits should have a better grasp of a teams tactics, shape and player movement than I should. Then in the week you can't even spend your lunch break enjoying the sports pages anymore as it's filled with the usual 'Moneybags City', 'Expensively Assembled Squad', 'English Talent Career Ruined', it's fucking ridiculous. Football used to be a huge part of my life and my enjoyment of it has now been whittled down to the 2 hours every two weeks when I get to a game and all because these press shitbags would rather chase the money and the website hits than actually do a good job of writing interesting and impartial articles or match reports. I don't want them blowing smoke up my arse like they do with other teams, all I want is the truth and an insight into something that I wouldn't be able to get on my own, surely with some press credentials and bhind the scenes access it can't be impossible for them to write a half decent article rather than just pander to the brain dead masses.
I can't even get that angry about FFP anymore as the football world has been rigged towards the old guard for years with the ridiculous sums of money and good press earned in the Champions League for the last two decades and FFP just seems to be a small addition to that, however it does annoy me that there will never be a season where realistically there could be 7 or 8 league winners but that's been the case since around '92 weirdly.
Anyway, great post from ChesterGuy and frankly I think this thread should be closed and all posts deleted except his.

The commentator on teh play off final game just said who will win to play the likes of Chelsea Arsenal and Manchester United in the Premier League next season.

Anyone would think we didnt exist

Let's be honest, it's going to about 10 years of sustained success, before the media/world finally take notice of City, and we finally push ourselves out of the massive Red Shadows that cover the Far East / rest of the world.
We are doing it the right way, and there's no one, no media, no Platini / Blatter conspiracy, no fan in the street, pig ignorance that is going to change that.
2 titles is 4 years, most consistent Prem team this decade/last five years ( take your pick)
A brand new Academy, which is actually having some success (despite what you may or may not hear in the media!)
Women's team, Stadium expansion, and the much maligned "holistic way" and a general club ethos of trying to do it right from the ground up. From tea lady to star striker, also notice our players do not, as a rule, dive, cheat, harangue the ref or speak bad of opponents.
As long as we sustain, and grow our success the way we have been doing, we will be noticed.
