Media bias against City

On a light note whilst looking through BBC website this was noticed:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.4-traders.com/MANCHESTER-UNITED-PLC-11217013/news/Manchester-United--Manuel-Pellegrini-confident-of-his-future-as-Manchester-City-manager-20433121/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.4-traders.com/MANCHESTER-UNI ... -20433121/</a>

Seems MUFC have either got no news of their own or have taken over direct editing of any City news.

So there you have it. Van Gall get's given a £160mill war chest, get's united to 4th, and only makes the CL play off.

Pellers and the club had their spending restricted by Platini and UEFA, but the team still finished 2nd, 9 points in front of United.
Tbh that's some rating he's given pellegrini
4 or a 5 tops.

Wasn't Woodward quoted in the press that United always budget for a top three finish? It seems TT has been marked up as a success even though he's missed his expected target.

Listening to The Game podcast this morning where they were selecting their team of the season.

Naturally Harry Kane was a shoo-in for the line striker in a 4-2-3-1 with only one of the five contributors even mentioning the Golden Boot winner.

But when they were talking about their midfield attacking three, not one mention for Spanish Dave. Hazard, Sanchez & Cazorla were the three selected but one of the panel put up an argument for Rooney and another for Willian. Marcotti was somewhat scornful about Rooney, saying (correctly) he hasn't had a great season but no one ever mentioned Silva. Astonishing.

I wonder what the scores would be if we'd finished fourth and they'd finished second.

"For the money they've spent", fourth and 17 points off the title is an utterly pitiful return. 7/10 ffs.

Also they have gone from 7th to 4th while we have gone from 1st to 2nd. You may not agree with it but it is just an alternative opinion to your own. Hardly any evidence of an agenda
What respective marks out of ten would you give City and united - and why?

For City a 6.5/7 would be a fair score. Like most City fans I thought we would retain the title, but instead we have 7 points less than last season, scored significantly less than last season, and two very poor cup defeats to lower league sides.

For United they have closed the gap from being 22 points behind us to 9. Similarly had two very poor cup results but one was to a decent side (Arsenal). Fourth place is not a great performance though and some of their performances were dire. So similarly probably a 6.5/7.

I suppose it comes down to expectations. Looking at our squad, the continuity we have enjoyed over the past few years and our results with the same players from last season this year has been poor.

United have had to bed new players in and as I am reliably informed on the Mangala thread you need to give players time to do this. Their are arguments either way. The point being scoring City 6.7 and United 7 is hardly evidence of a conspiracy against a club. It is not that black and white.

Sorry, I didn't know which thread to post this in but I need to ask everyone a question.
I have been a City fan for about 10 years now (yes, before the takeover) and I chose City because I wanted a different club to support other than the rags, which most of my friends supported and I couldn't stand the rags.
Now I'm from Wales and there's not many City fans from Wales, but I love City, I really do. They give me a feeling nothing else can. Watching us win, lose or draw is the highest privilege I could have but I want to know, a lot of people see me as the 'plastic' fan and think I only support City since the glory, and it really pisses me off to be honest. I honestly don't think I'm a plastic fan but what are your guys opinions?
Cheers.
I see a plastic as a glory hunter. If you were watching city ten years ago you would have seen no glory. That said I have to ask why didn't you follow your local side? Assuming they are a smaller club they could have done with your support. Let your mates follow the rags (like they would know where the swamp was) you would be the bigger man/woman
Well my local team was in the Welsh Premier League (Aberystwyth) and I support them and even played for their youth team a few times.
The most local team of note is Swansea and obviously these were down in the lower divisions of English football so I thought by supporting them, I could also support a Premier League team as never in my wildest dreams did I see Swansea in the top league.
So yeah, then I developed a love for City and I can't let go of it

Some programme on BT Sport this morning circa 7.50am which I think was first shown last night. Starting talking about City and how it had been a poor season. Stopped listening when Michael Owen went on about how Pellers tactics of playing two up front in Europe was wrong and how Munich (Bayern that is) battered us. I could have sworn we won the game.

Just watched the hour long program about Frank Lampard Sky Sports TV.

Must say there was very little comment from the interviewer and it was mostly about FL and his career as described by the man himself.

You're a Blue mate. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. No big clubs in your area as you said and the easy thing to have done was just
follow the scum like the rest of the sheep around Britain do. The fact that you followed us when we were (by today's standards) shite
shows you've got that streak of bloody mindedness that we all have and that is in full evidence on this forum! Yes, you're a Blue.
