we have had a fair amount of City tailored coverage so far this summer, perhaps PB is right about Sky/Big 4/BT and losing the CL.
Apparently Sterling fell over today
Would that be for the two nailed on penalties the pathetic ref didn't see?Apparently Sterling fell over today
I thought that Hinchcliffe was ok. Had just commented to my better half that 'at least they have an ex city player involved' when he says 'Mangala was extremely poor last season' Spat my tea out at that one. FFS even ex City players have a biased view!!I thought the Sky match coverage was ok today for a change - Terry Gibson as the co-commentator was very complimentary about the youngsters, as if his brief spell at the rags didn't affect him too much! Having a former blue in the studio - Andy Hinchcliffe - helped as well.
Interesting that Sky's viewing figures for the CL were apparently well down (by 38%) over the last five seasons. Last season saw the rags not in the competition and Liverpool not in it the few seasons before last.
That's quite interesting as it strongly suggests viewing figures are heavily linked to the participation & success of English clubs, particularly the rags and Liverpool.
Now normally you'd expect Sky to big up those two and have a huge commercial interest in doing their best to make sure both those clubs got to and did well in the CL.
But with BT taking over the coverage, you'd imagine Sky would be more interested in screwing BT over and ensuring (as far as it could) that neither got to the group stages if possible.
Be interesting to see just how many dodgy decisions go against those two clubs this season.
Thank goodness it wasnt just me covered in Tea. Really stuck the knife in to Mangala this morning which just seemed so behind the times, especially after the run of brilliant games he had partnering Demichelis at the end of the season.
Could be worse, could've been Danny Mills, in with Didi Hamman and Niall Quinn! that would be the Sky dream ex-City line up, taking turns to put the boot in, slag us off etc!!!I thought that Hinchcliffe was ok. The refs are letting us know there is a price for victimizing Liverpool. He'll be kicked and taken down all season without cards or penalties.Would that be for the two nailed on penalties the pathetic ref didn't see?
