Here's a prediction:
When all the journalists do their end of season run-in prediction fest, City will finish no higher than 4th and some journalists will even have us collapsing to 5th .

EDIT:
Feck me, I go to the BBC and lo and behold the first such article is there:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31993167" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31993167</a>
McNulty has us to finish 4th behind Chelsea, Arsenal & Utd.

How is this evidence of an agenda? I think we'll finish 4th!

Easy. The agenda is simply the fact that we have very few sports journalists who support City in the press. Most support old style "Sky 4" teams and therefore a by default are anti-City because their team's nose is being pushed out of the Champions League money trough as a result. It also shows up laziness as many will simply extrapolate last 8 form going forwards.

so they have an agenda.

media discussing that this is the weakest premier league ever? is this an agenda against Chelsea?

There is an agenda against our club , but its not personal , its business

The rags have a 100 fans to every city fan
The dippers have 50 fans to every city fan
The chavs and arse have 25 fans to every city fan

("fans" meaning non match going customers)

So if you are writing / presenting an article praising our club , it will turn off millions of people

If you write / present an article criticising our club millions approve and will read/watch avidly

Its transparent , clear as day , why do we get annoyed , its just business

F*ck what the media say , circle the wagons , and get behind our great football club .

But when we do have a couple of champs leagues and a dozen premiership titles in the bag , our fan base will increase ten fold , and we will be one of th elite ...................god help us.

Whether its business or personal, the effect is the same.

To be honest I have read this on the thread a hundred times that the reason for the pro-united bias and anti City coverage is due to Uniteds fanbase and the fact is its business.

United are two points behind us having finished seventh the previous year yet Van Gaal has been criticised all season for not signing defenders, his formation, long ball football, playing Rooney in midfield etc etc. Receiving far more criticism and negative exposure than Manuel ever has. How does that fit in with the pro-united media bias?

Far me United will receive more coverage be it good or bad because they are more newsworthy. It can work both for and against us.

Not really. The press are just repeating what every united fan has been saying all season on every message board up and down the country. They don't seem to get the snidey/ racist remarks chucked at them like we do.

Whilst I think there is plenty of lazy ill-considered, and often economically driven, bias out there, and whilst I happily acknowledge that there are a handful of c*nts like Jackson and Ogden, whose raggy bitterness is bottomless, the search for an agenda becomes comical when you start looking for it in red chairs or dodgy refereeing decisions and so forth. So too when you start looking for it not in words but in potential intent. The fact that a large number of hacks may support the rags or the dippers is of no consequence whatsoever, until they start portraying City in a deliberate and unnecessarily bleak light. In this instance, whatever you may speculate the motive to be, a perfectly reasonable prediction has been made by a journalist that City will finish 4th. There is nothing in that statement that constitutes an agenda

No consequence?
You're living in cloud cuckoo land if you really think that doesn't help shape what the journos write. Chasing clicks is the other motive for City bad press, but both clearly set out and define an agenda - ie they do it on purpose for specific reasons.
To say anything else is simply picking a gainsay argument of the sort: "a cloudless daytime sky on Earth is not sky blue"!

I said "no consequence..... until they start portraying City in a negative light". It's perfectly possible to be a rag and comment on City objectively. Gary Bumfluff manages it every week. Not saying he doesn't have a tiny bulge in his trousers when City have lost and he can put the boot in, but his analysis is invariably bang on the money and very fair.
