Media bias against City

Are you suggesting that the tv companies and sponsors will want that dream game to maximise revenues and they would go out of their way to make it happen?

I think i know the answer unfortunately,
Perish the thought!

This is why the media perception of our club matters.

With taggart, referees were scared not to give penalties. Had that been the rags at the swamp five years ago, that referee would know that if he wrongly refused to give the penalty he would be absolutely lambasted and it would be all over the media for days, and he will be refereeing at Scunthorpe the following week.

With us, he knows that even a complete stonewall like the one on sterling will have a few lines in the newspaper reports if he doesn't give it, and even though there is pretty much universal agreement that he should have given it, it will be forgotten about the day after tomorrow, and he will be refereeing a top flight game the next weekend.
It will be interesting to note if he gets a Prem game this weekend, likewise Graham Scott. We will probably get Scott in the next couple of weeks.you have to agree, his performance in the Swansea Sunderland game was dire....

Scott's only done 4-5 PL matches ever, and was a replacement for the ill Marriner. I doubt he'll be seen for some time.

Also, refs for this w/e fixtures were chosen before the midweek fixtures.

The league cup final is not a global game mate, its very much for the domestic market and a scouse derby will be giving them all hard ons.
The marketing would be immense for a bin dipper derby final.

It would be all about 80's with parallels to their great teams of that era. References to 86 etc. An excuse to dig up Rush,Nicol,Grobbalar, Reid,Sharp and Sheedy.

A wank wall presentation promoting "The friendly Derby" with opposing dippers sharing their renowned Scouse humour and maybe a subtle hillsborugh reference thrown in to boot.

Scott was either incredibly shit on or the take.

Him and his officials were piss poor in that game.

Brought a tear to my eye that did.
