Alright maybe I'm being slightly harsh - he's not as bad as some.

I seem to remember him being overly harsh on us at a point on Sunday Supplement se years back...........
Yes, I watched that interview. I remember thinking at the time that it seemed a bit out of character for him. Maybe it was his way to placate his editors, after all there doesn't appear to be a sympathetic broadsheet or tabloid between them.

I've seen him on Sunday Supplement, The Debate and a few other football related broadcasts and he has strongly defended us or he's been the voice of reason among a barrage of insults towards us.

Let's see? It's very difficult to swim against the tide of the media narrative and very few journalists have got the steel to go out on a limb.

@JASR My mate dug out the accounts but I can’t post as I’m out. Turnover was £9,555,883. The transfer spend is pretty easy to find on Transfermarket website, shows spend of £10.1m.

This was the most expensive team in history that we finished on level points with and beat 5-1 with a team of youth players.

Funny how history seems to have forgotten that...
It would be interesting to put (as best as possible), United’s 89 accounts through the FFP rules (PL & uefa) and see how much percentage they failed by. (It can only be percentages, as the money growth in football has been insane since then).

Odd coincidence below

89 united start spending, 3 years later they start to win big.
Ruining football articles: 0
Organic money articles: infinite
Period of dominance: 20 years
Bad for football articles: 0
FFP rules introduced: 0

08 city start spending , 3 years later they start to win big.
Ruining football articles: infinite
Organic money articles: 0
Period of dominance: TBC
Bad for football articles: infinite
FFP rules introduced.... you get the idea

You are right. There is a perverse thing going in which journos are unable to find anything wrong with the team so you go after the club.

Yep I have pretty good memory but was wrong about fergies spend am sure it was 14m! Think year or 2 later the was on the stock exchange and club valued around 45m I think then thats when there domination started with another major cash investment that carried on till fergie said there was no value in the market about 15/17 years later.

The concerted attack (and the timing of it) by a significant minority of the print media shitterati is nothing short of disgraceful.

The faux outrage of the dipper and cockney fans is almost as bad. I never knew there was so much interest in and concern about alleged human rights abuses in the gulf states among the braying WKD Ladbrokes life brigade. I mean, it can’t be just because their poor ikkle cwubs didn’t win any twophies this season can it?

Just been thinking of a great song by The Stone Roses;

Kiss me where the Sun don't shine
The past was yours but the futures mine
You're all out of time

Fair point - he won't flip flop again.

I think he is taking his position on usand won't shift if he is challenging the like of Miguel Whatshisface.,.......

Sportwashing?

More made up fucking twitter shite pmsl.

I'm sure you are aware of the meaning of said terminology, basically hes suggesting that the football club is merely a carrier for the shieks business and the illegality of it and even helps expand it.

Its obviously bollocks and I do wonder where the fuck his view point has been for the last 10 years.

Weird it only surfaces after a fucking record breaking triple, the jealous ****

I think that would need a lot more context to compare - comparative other team spending, the dramatic change in the income landscape in 30 years. Overall, I think you'd need a long time to produce something meaningful.
