It's amazing how many people view clubs "history" based on how good they were around the year 2000Newcastle's last league title was 92 years ago, their last FA Cup was 64 years ago and they've never won the League Cup.
Their last trophy was the old Inter Cities Fairs Cup 50 years ago and they only qualified for that by a convoluted set of circumstances. They finished 10th which is by far the lowest ever finish to qualify for a European place on league position. They got in because the rags won the European Cup (with City winning the League and both playing in the European Cup), West Brom winning the FA Cup (thereby qualiying for the ECWC) and the one city one club rule at the time disqualifying Everton, Spurs and Arsenal.
On that basis the giant hasn't been sleeping. It's been in a coma.
NUFC will be perfectly ok. That is until they start winning. As we have shown it doesnt take just money you have to have a good manager, once they get that the oil money shit will hit the fan imoThat fuckwit Martin Lipton was on Sky News just now talking about the proposed takeover of Newcastle. "Do we want more sovereign wealth clubs in English football?" The old "owned by a country" argument still in his portfolio. He also said the source of funding will be the same for both City and Newcastle (i.e. the UAE royal family) and questioned whether two clubs should be allowed to be owned by members of the same family. It seems the fact that Liverpool and Everton were both owned by the Moores family for decades has passed him by.
So is there a picture of ours or didn't they bother?
They obviously had to do two publication's as it went down to the last day.
Still piss funny, I'd be gutted if I seen that.
Yeah they did the same if not similar spread for us.So is there a picture of ours or didn't they bother?
yep, i'd be gutted to read that tweet if City hadnt won the league. surprised at the bbc though, just goes to show they have rimmed liverpool all season and then kick them in the balls at the earliest opportunity (even when they didnt have to). Can't really believe people are getting upset about Match of the Day magazine's alternate take if Liverpool had won the title. Releasing it is amusing, good on them.
