I don't recall us doing this last summer although i recall PB saying we did it a while ago,our owner bailed out Barclays that time so i expect they will make it into some kind of murky shite

Something about borrowing the money and assigning the incoming TV money to the bank as surety, I think. I think it means that the actually money at the club doesn't change, but it gives some spending money upfront.

Think we will only spend big if we sell the likes of danilo Otomendi sane if not we probably just by a centre back to cover Kompany leaving and a midfielder.

Chew on this media

Manchester City have taken a payday-style loan from Barclays to fund a transfer window of big spending. For the second summer running, City have received forward-funded TV money, allowing the club to prove they are using genuine income. [@DanKing_1974 for @TheSunFootball]
A payday style loan ?
The oil must be running out, i knew this would happen....!

That's how i understand it as well

It's like a cash advance. I think some of the clubs we are dealing with want the full transfer fee upfront. the buyout for Rodri would also need to be paid in one chunk. I bet most clubs do this but its only newsworthy when you are labeled a financial doper!
