Brace yourselves for Der Spiegel, UEFA, Human rights all it takes is for City back on track to get journalists looking for a caveat to our wins.

There was a good angle for the media, cup games are good for match fitness, confidence & blooding youth.

Match fitness - KDB tick
Confidence - 16 goals in 4 days tick
Youth- Foden, Garcia, Muric, Zinchenko tick

Thats the ideal number, would have more counter productive and embarrassing to dump in 7-8 youth players into an uncoordinated team, as Pellegrini did a few years back.
If we'd played any more youth players it would have been labelled disrespectful to Burton by the same journalists.

Depressingly, ESPN decided to get rid of Simon Curtis and David Mooney, and chose to keep Mark fucking Ogden to write about City.
I read most of what Curtis, Mooney, and Ogden wrote about us prior to the purge and I reckon the reason is that Ogden is often critical of us, whereas Curtis and (especially) Mooney were balanced and/or positive about City.

Unfortunately, the former will get them more clicks than the latter, as the amount of people that dislike us will always outnumber those who like us now. And it allows them to keep up the pretense of impartiality.

It’s the same rush to ‘impressions’ and ‘engagement’ that is slowly (or not so slowly) killing off proper journalism.

We’re barrelling toward Idiocracy.

Looks like the second leg of this will clash with the EFL Trophy again, so doubtless we'll get yet more stick for only using 4 or 5 kids.

Of course it's doubtful that any of these journalists with such a keen interest in our youth development realise that our u23 side had an important game last night.
