So are the defenders of free speech and 'human rights' going to have anything to say about the dismissal of George Galloway by TalkSport for expressing antt-Israeli views?
No offence intended towards Israeli or Jewish bluemooners here. I want to bring up the issue of freedom of speech and particularly the expected silence from our critics in the Times, Independent and Guardian. If they believe in freedom of expression, and decry MCFC for our links to an 'undemocratic state', then surely these same people will be writing on the matter today, or tomorrow. No doubt they would regard this as whatboutery, but are they genuinely interested in 'rights' or not? This is directly on their patch. If they do not write about this matter, then all their cries and objections are crocodile tears and meaningless.
A small point for any City fans who have been bothered by racist, or sectarian chants. This is what happens when you call on the state to ban people who express 'hate', you end up being banned yourself, and you don't have a leg to stand on, because millions of people find what were once common-place views offensive.
