The lyrics are in bad taste........

"Battered in the streets" ......."Victims of it all"

We should change the words. But the reaction is OTT
Rag and Everton fans have been singing ”always the victims never your fault” for quite a while now. It could be construed as bad taste but link it to Hysel and it’s not inappropriate.

I think we all have sympathy for the innocent mostly young fans that died at Hillsborough, we are not denigrating their memory but if it suits the media they will link the event and the song.

The suggestion that the song has anything to do with Hillsborough is utterly preposterous.

Why - it isnt anyhing to do with what they sadly and maliciously want it to be. Any changing of lyrics that have been sung by other club's fans as well as ours just plays into their feral, gnarled, bitter hands.
I'm surprised the Slippy G so g hasnt been linked to hillsborough, they are that insulting not only to us and other fans but also to that tragedy.

It’s never brought up, the potential for a serious incident in that bus attack. The Driver could have been distracted and ended up knocking a few of those fuckers over. Also, Sean Cox was hit and severely damaged by a belt buckle, I would imagine that would have had about the same velocity as a full beer can that could have missed the bus and hit someone. They are reaping what they sow, there’s no doubt in my mind there will be trouble in Madrid and someone will end up seriously injured.
Won't be their fault though.

Started out as the "Manchester Guardian" too.
The Guardian is one of the UK's most unsuccessful newspapers and has lost more than half its circulation in the last decade. It is a niche product bought by 140,000 people in a country of more than 60 million people. It has always been patronising in its approach to football and football fans. I suspect Colin Schindler is the only City fan who buys it.
