Legally, according to the documentation, we are owned by Sheikh Mansour and there's no doubt about that. But effectively we're owned by Sheikh Mohammed & the Executive Council. There's simply no way Khaldoon & Simon Pearce would be involved so heavily if weren't. Anyone who thinks otherwise is astoundingly naive.
So we should have been singing "Sheikh Mohammed and the Executive Council went to Spain in a seven seater SUV"

How many posters do we have on BM? You all hate the media and yet you cosey up to it every day looking for anti-City rhetoric. Why? I don’t buy papers, nor do I watch any Sly Sports unless City are playing and even then I turn the sound down and I haven’t listened to Talksh1te since I was driving home after CL game and some tit was actually crying that his beloved rags were not through to the KO stages. Why do you bother? We play the best football this country has ever seen and that is what matters not the snivelling sh1te that is produced by this country’s so called media.
I don't see why so many have a problem with people reading papers or watching tv, and pointing out when someone says or writes something that's unbalanced, or unfair or hypocritical.

You choose to ignore it, and that's your right. But there's nothing wrong with reading, watching or listening and then forming an opinion on it.

Whether that was the intention from the start (and the fact that a clown like Sulaiman al-Fahim was involved could be seen to support the fact it wasn't) or they quickly saw the PR possibilities of owning a PL club, we simply don't know. But we are now very much an arm of the Abu Dhabi government, albeit what's known as a soft one in diplomatic terms.
We are not owned by a state nor do we have influence on the guy in jail as the media suggests,Mansours name is on the contract so he owns us and decides what we as a football club do,it's that simple

Sportswashing and whataboutery are the go to phrases at the moment.
Apparently there's a new go to phrase 'we'll be in the top 4 by the end of the season' recently used by some dour, miserable, eye gouging bus parker that refuses to settle in the little outpost on the edge of the city where the bangers used to race

I don't look for anti-City rhetoric. It's in my face everyday I wake up. I can't disconnect from social media because of my job. I do my best to avoid reading anything written by these bent fucks but sometimes it just comes up on my Twitter feed or facebook or BM and there's nothing I can do about it. Don't listen to talkshite. Already cancelled all my print and digital media subscriptions. I'm actively doing everything to remove this negative bullshit from my life. The only good thing out of this is that I now know who the grandstanding wankers are.

ALL ABOARD THE CITY-BASHING BANDWAGON!

They might have fucked us over on the pitch with their scintillating football. They may be disappearing over the horizon with their 100 fucking points, but don't despair fellow journalists, bring your poisoned pens, gather up your typewriters, join us on the city-bashing bandwagon and give it your worst! We'll get the bastards somehow!

And we're off!

Journalistic integrity you say? - who needs it? - leave it at home! Checking the facts you say? - Bwaaah - facts are for losers!

"Hurry up Barney, there's just room for one at the back. Next to Duncan"

"Oi you at the front - mention United's ties to Saudi Arabia one more time and you'll be off at the next stop"

"And you two F1 sportswriters - we really don't care where this week's grand prix is being held"

That's the only season I can remember that might as well not have happened, I even dared get excited for that quarter final against West Ham

Yes I was equally enthused for that match and when it went wrong started screaming at Stuart Pearce ‘wheres Samaras?’. He looked pretty bemused which, as highlighted by friends later, was probably because he did not understand the point I was making (samaras getting njured 3 days earlier in a pointless lge match) and probably thought I was an idiot for screaming for the introduction of an injured player.
