Media coverage 2018/19

I like to think VVD was booed because nobody likes Liverpool and the media can't bring themselves to see it.

Some say, people boo the big players but they have to be a good and a bit of a cocky twat to get that, the media arse kissing did probably play a part though. People don't like being told to kiss ass with the media in general.

Actually saw Loftus-Cheek’s injury in person (during a Chelsea friendly here. Captain of my league team is a Chav ( ;-) ) and took the team — didn’t look promising at the time and even said I thought he could have done his Achilles.

Very unlucky, as he was starting to press for an England place.

Yeah, it was unfortunate.

The fact that it was so avoidable/needless made it so much worse.

Absolutely spot on. Get their mistakes out of the way playing for the perennial losers surrounded by jokers like Henderson and Lingaard.
I was only half watching the game but I did get the impression with Stones’ hesitancy in defence, that there was a reluctance to do the simple pass back to Pickford.
With City he would have no reservations about giving it to Ed.

It happened a few times that England seemed like they were told to play it out from the back but where we would be used to seeing our defenders take the required positions to give options, there was just no out ball. The defenders were miles apart and no triangles being formed with the keeper.
Then the last goal proved just why the trust isn’t there. If you don’t have a midfield that can play that football then your defenders are always going to be the ones that are made look stupid in the end.

Stones was poor. So was Walker. But I just didn’t see confidence in the system if you could call it a system.
Lack of trust.

Stones was shocking tbh.

But actually the post-match discussion centred more around the lack of technical ability in midfield, which was evident when Barkley couldn't handle a good pass into him by Stones.[/QUOTE

Its more positioning than technical at the moment.
Don’t be too hard on Barkley, I’ve seen Fernandinho do similar.

That’s spot on.
Stones is only poor when he dwells on the ball. Usually waiting for movement. Never happens at city.
Pickford is a weak link and nobody wants to give him the ball as it takes five minutes to get it back off the opposition.
Media will be all over stones.

From the BBC,

Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, mercilessly and totally inexplicably jeered by England's fans all night,

Was Sterling being booed ever described in such a way, *****!
Spot on mate, nobody gave a shit when Raheem was getting fragged every time he touched a ball, regardless of what shirt he was wearing ....

Do you think that Pep and the staff who focus on player analysis will have that? Will they fuck. Stones was trusted for one game in the run in and dropped an absolute stinker of a performance.

He's got an absolutely enormous season ahead of him. At the moment he's a huge concern.

maybe the penny will finally drop with BBC that nobody outside of their deluded fan base, and their over-represented friends in the media, actually likes Liverpool; so maybe they could temper their sicken!y biased coverage of them.

I doubt it though

Great poll on sky sports Twitter. Im not making this up.

Who is the best player in the world

Lionel Messi
Cristiano Ronaldo
Eden hazard
Virgil van dyke

Haha worse, VVD has 13 percent of the votes!!

How delusional are these cünts????
Virgil VanDickhead shouldn’t even be in the same same sentence as those players.
Last night proved his ‘hoofball’ tactics. Some of his clearances where pure Sunday league.

He doesn't concern me. A top quality player. He'll make a few mistakes during the season, as will the rest of our squad.

There's no defending John Stones after that display tonight, the kid just doesn't learn, whatever shit the media throw at him tonight well he deserves it!

He will bounce back like he has done every time he’s made a mistake for us.

Clearly doesn’t trust Pickford like he does Ederson to take the pass and needs to adjust his game for England accordingly.

Still will be the best centre half in the world while he’s at City

Lets put all this into perspective before people slag of Stones. We are talking about England here, managed by Gareth Southgate

Anyone thinking Southgate is training this lot to pass it out from the back, training the players in where they need to position themselves so that the pass can be made to by-pass the press !!!Sorry but that aint happening.

There are players in that team who dont have a clue how to play it out from the back, and when you have someone like stones who does, but no-one takes up the correct position to receive the ball then it will make him look ordinary as he either gets closed down or as last night the receiver loses the ball and they score

Stop. This is a very good article by the best sports journalist by far. However it is not positive it is neutral. Positive articles are reserved for those in red and talk about how great a club or player is. You think its positive because he is not trying to piss all over us.

Sorry for some reason this made me a touch ranty.
