I thought i saw an article that shows Clubs get very little from the sale of a replica shirt and that it's the sponsorship from the sports brand that makes them where the financial gain is from.

City get the lump sum up front from puma and its up to puma to try and make that money back.
Its a loss leader for puma though, its more paying for advertising than making money.
