The press conferences seem to be an open invite for cartel shills to fire pot shots at a bloke who’s first language isnt English, even though he gets exactly how snide they are.

the answer is simple, appoint Noel Gallagher as Pep’s presser representative, if he can’t be arsed dragging his arse up to Manchester let the fuckers have a ten minute zoom call.

he’d put them lickspittles in their place, maybe alternate with Liam, LG would be better at the face to face stuff…

Purely from a business perspective the CFG model is a tough one to fathom. Unless they have a single brand which is marketed globally I don't see how they gain from having many brands/clubs under their banner. And its not like the consumer/fan is going to follow more than one club so dispersed brands with their own unique consumers doesn't sound that convincing without common denominators. Plus it stretches management bandwidth and drivers of success are sure to be different in different geographies. Also from a Man City perspective you would think that the club management would prefer to see more Man City fans in say New York or Mumbai rather than NYCFC fans or Mumbai City fans. So in a way these clubs compete too.

It makes more sense as a billionnaire collectors items. But as long as they aren't bleeding cash too heavily who am I to complain. Shiekh Mansour is a man who has two mega yachts...why not a dozen football clubs?!

Feeder clubs (within the same pyramid) create a form of subservience too, don't they? I would much rather that the EPL incentivise transfer/lending of players to the lower leagues, that would give the players more game time and would help the clubs in the lower tiers get good talent.
any profit from those clubs is still technically going in the Sheikh's pocket.

There’s benefits having players learn their trade at clubs with the same philosophy. And as such I doubt we would loan many players out to the lower leagues. Especially players in the Foden bracket.

And then there’s Brexit and work permits. The set up helps to move young players about without having to wait until his made x amount of international games and buy him when his price is high. Alvarez and that river plate lad. How much would they cost? Twice as much as buying a football club lol

Every angle I look at these clubs I find it hard to believe they wouldn’t be self sufficient at a minimum.
The lad on loan to girona. He signed for Troyes. Never played. The media going on about how we will have to pay fair market value.
Why would we not? Troyes get the money to invest and City don’t get tripped up by rules made up in the future.

Just need the next Rodri and alls good.

Pep is one super cool dude. Goodness knows what a great effect he has on the players, but he certainly settles me down.
