Oil is quite literally the product that, for better or worse, has fuelled the age we live in, including the medium upon which we are communicating now and countless other advances in technology and science. If it wasn’t for oil we’d be tootling round in steam powered vehicles and dying of dysentery and cholera in our early 30s.

I have no problem with people highlighting its deficiencies and negative impacts, but to do so while freely enjoying its benefits is completely hypocritical.
