Maybe.
I think it was more on the lines that they were getting a realky good fee for Walker and Trippier was well capable of taking over as Walkers replacement.
In fairness, Trippier is not bad at all and I don't think many including us City fans, could have envisaged Walker being the success he has been.
Once again, the massive improvement in Kyle's consistent level of performance, has to be down to Pep's coaching and his tactics.
Kyle has always been rapid, but in the last 2-3 seasons his confidence and passing has vastly improved.
Hopefully, Kyle is over his giddy off-field activities. He has definitely matured on the pitch.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Trippier. His dead-ball delivery is very good, but he can lose the ball far more than Kyle...

If I recall correctly Lineker said something similar about the Walker transfer on MOTD.
Probably briefed by the producer before the show aired. Agendas are set and driven by the media. You only have to look at how they drive commercialism, capitalism and greed. We all buy shit we don’t need and entrench ourselves in views we are told to believe in based on nothing more than our geographical location.

Anyway, walker has been one of the best transfers the club has made. Look at the price tags now for players only half as good. It’s no wonder Chelsea and the rags are struggling to rebuild in this current financial climate. £90 million buys you an Anthony ffs.

It's funny, we were talking at tea time and my stepson asks "how do we know that we're not actually dead?". Seeing that sort of list makes me feel this can't be the real world!
Great research by the way.......or was it a cut and paste?
No it wasn’t cut and paste. I selected certain players awarded the recognition since De Bruyne’s arrival in August 2015.

I could also have added Sergio, Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Sterling, Diego Costa, Ibrahimavic, Ronaldo, Hazard, Lukaku, Salah, Van Dijk, Sané, Mané, Aubameyang, Gundogan, De Gea, Vardy, Iheanacho, Ødegaard, Saka, Haaland and the most recent James Maddison.

There are some brilliant players there and also in the previous list and I can understand why they could be awarded player of the month as sometimes players can hit levels they are not normally able to achieve and stand out as a result.

A previous poster commented that Kevin is consistently brilliant and that’s maybe why he has not been recognised as worthy of the award.

The man is easily one of the best players that ever lived and not just one of the best ever to grace the Premier League and that is why it is so incredible to contemplate that he has never been awarded just one of these accolades.

So apparently Everton have been bought by an American company. So how many americans own prem leg clubs now and when will we reach a tipping point where they could vote in favour of either a closed league or worse a super league. If it ever were to happen I think I would hang up my scarf and rattle.
Hopefully the independent regulator will be in place soon and they will stop it

If I recall correctly Lineker said something similar about the Walker transfer on MOTD.
He said how much would he have cost if he could cross the ball He did apologise to Kyle when he met him a few years later saying he was out of order

Has he written anything else since? Must be starved of content if has not as a feast was offered by Ted Boehley.
To think we could have paid a similair amount for the uncapped Wan Bissaka instead of wasting our money on a RB who in 6 yrs has won 5 × PL, 4 x LC, 2 x FAC plus champions league and super cup.
