How are those rumours getting in to the papers though? It's probably as you've said by leaks from the club/agent about existing contact. I can't believe for one minute that an agent doing his job doesn't know exactly who is interested in his client, and only finds out because some reporter in the Sun publishes it.Completely disagree.
Of course being constantly linked and asked about another clubs "supposed" interest must at some point lead to an agent/player exploring the truth of the rumours. Also - given how good our players are - of course they'd be interested. Add to that - leaking to the press is the m.o. of clubs like Madrid, Bayern, Juventus etc even united if they weren't do irrelevant.
