I had to chuckle during the derby, after the penalty was given and then long after play had restarted. Gary Neville was determined to have last say, that it was soft/a bad call but Mike Dean kept doubling down and you could hear Gary getting more pissed off with it, the longer it went. I bet there were loads of rags fuming with him too, they just aren't used to not controlling the narrative because they've had control of it for decades. Imagine if one day, all the pandering suddenly stopped and they were treated the same as any other club. Better yet, how on earth would any of them cope, if United were treated just like City are, on matters like this?

Rashford's PR team basically first piggy backed on an existing Co-op Fareshare scheme, and then high-jacked it as if it was all Rashfords own doing.
On a weeknight Newsnight program, there was a growing national fervour for Captain Tom to be awarded the knighthood for his fund-raising efforts because he broke the £10m (or £20m) barrier.

Cue a couple of days later on the BBC, a cuddly interview with M.Gashfoot who casually let on his charity had also by coincidence raised close to the same total as Captain Tom. It looked so obvious that he/his PR team were plotting on getting the same knighthood by association.

His “team“ also got him an interview with Barack Obama (as confirmed by an Obama aide) …talk about building an image ! Funny thing is that most rags can’t stand him - he’s a media darling and definitely chasing a gong.

you should link it ,some of the stuff posted on here about the bias is so flimsy you could spit through it, but its been like that for years,@franksinatra used to point it out and i pretty much agreed with him every time, some people are too thin skinned, i get united get a lot of good press, it gets clicks , we dont get as much and some of it is pretty shite, but to tell you the truth i only read the press when its been put on here, but i agree ,some people actually go out of their way to find"the bias"
I shouldn't have to post a link as some here must scour the Web every day and would surely have come across the match report.

From Oliver Holt of all people !!! He even reported positively on our support.

One swallow does not a summer make though
Pretty sure he’s a City fan, or at least grew up as one. Even just a casual search shows a fair few supportive articles about us. He’s been clear about the distinction between the majority of us and two minors on X, using that post to also point out how impeccable we were on the Munich disaster anniversary. Not saying there aren’t any critical articles out there but that should be a real journalist’s job - as long as it’s balanced and without an agenda or political leverage

Swears down he’s a Stockport fan doesn’t he ? Nailed on rag imo. He’s not the most odious of journalists, I always kind of enjoyed his laconic style on that Sunday morning journos chat show but he’s been very critical of us down the years - happy to play the oil money / FFP card at the drop of a hat
