They did - but not on the grounds he was an Arsenal fan.

"Manchester City have lodged legal challenges against the Premier League’s 115 charges for alleged rule breaches, disputing the legality of the investigation and the involvement of the barrister who is in charge of the disciplinary process.

The Times understands that City have raised the dispute in relation to recent changes in the Premier League’s rules, arguing that they should not apply to investigations into alleged rule breaches before then.

The club are also understood to have challenged the involvement of Murray Rosen KC, the head of the Premier League’s independent judicial panel, as the person who appoints the chair of the disciplinary commission — under the rules he can appoint himself. Rosen’s profile on his chambers’ website states that he is a “member of the MCC and Arsenal FC”.

The challenges are likely to cause a further delay to the outcome of the case — legal experts believe that it could be between two and four years before it is completed. Any legal dispute between the clubs and the league should initially go to an arbitration tribunal, and beyond that it can go to the High Court and Court of Appeal."

Do tell us Mr Ziegler, since you included the MCC alongside Arsenal as one of Murray Rosen's sporting affiliations, was cricket's governing body, like Arsenal FC , a prime mover in the last attempt by US owned PL clubs to have City sentenced before these same charges were heard (and dismissed) by CAS?

It should not go unnoticed that this very newspaper, with your good self as its chosen conduit, helped Der Spiegel fund the Portugese extortionist/hacker Rui Pinto. It was upon his stolen emails. as subsequently doctored by DS, that UEFA based their failed case and it is those false allegations that were then repeated by the PL under pressure from its US owned clubs. These current charges should have been withdrawn long ago together with an end to the blatantly racist, anti-arab 'sportswashing/financial doping' propaganda associated with them.

Sadly it seems these disgraceful attempts to destroy the competition by US Hedge Fund owned PL clubs will only disappear when they do. Not too long hopefully judging from the recent activities of the Glazer family, FSG & Mr Boehly

It’s going to be interesting to see how they report this everyday with no new information to talk about or do we think there will be credible leeks ?
There'll be a newly thought out level of punishment agreed by all PL clubs provided on the hour every hour after 19 PL clubs fill out their surveymonkey forms that SSN send them.

I think that was Ziegler’s spin on it mentioning the Arsenal connection on his personal website. I understood City’s objection was based on questioning his impartiality because of his deep association with the PL.

How can anybody not call it an unbias panel based on the media and other clubs' witch hunt over the years
Manchester City should not have to clear its name Again as what was the point of the CAS ruling.

It's the Premier League that is Unworthy of calling itself a ruling body of football clubs because of the board members that control it, We have seen United allowed to fudge £75 million with COVID and fees when everybody else had to toll the line and ask for covid allowance but where thrown out,

It's very clear an all-out attack on Manchester City, They can not compete on or off the field so used the media to produce the verdict of Guilty

Anything negative to City will leak out as it has done for the past ten years. Masters will get an update from the legal team each day. Titbits will be relayed to certain club directors who will tell their selected pals in the media by a third party. That is what has happened throughout the investigation. And no one will challenge it. Only stuff that could damage City will come out. Just like the UEFA case.

It was always my understanding that City had not raised the Arsenal link - it would seem plain daft to start by casting aspersions on Rosen's ability to be impartial.

As you say, it was something read into something raised as a question and not because he's an Arsenal man.
