To use the phrase: "The people who run the club are despots" in relation to Citys ownership is a difficult one to prove if Liew was sued for libel. The dictionary definition of "despot" is a "ruler who rules in a cruel and oppressive way, a tryant." City are owned by Sheikh Mansour and Silver Lake. The people who run the club is a vague phrase but would certainly include Mansour and Khaldoon and possibly the management tier below Khaldoon. Not naming people is no protection against a libel action.
In theory Liew could be sued by multiple individuals. In that instance he would have to prove that his allegations were true. The burden of proof would lie with Liew and the publishers of the LFC Fanzine. At some point City are going to make an example of someone. Personally I think this would be a good moment to take action against Liew who has a track record of malicious comments.
