Media discussion - 2025/26

I don't know if this is the right place to put it as do they even count as media or journalists. Anyway, the commentators last night were pathetically biased. The co comm (don't know either of the names) wasn't too bad until we scored goals and then he had a moan about them. The other guy though, absolute twat. His obsession with the first goal being an og, even though the rule clearly is that a shot on target isnt an og.

it was like the iFollow commentary teams when I've watched FA Cup games in the past.

Was truly poor again for SKY

They also mentioned that we had 2 keepers on the bench so there must be something up with Trafford like that hadn't already happened in loads of games this season. Pretty sure every CL and cup game we have 2 keepers on the bench

These kind of comments you all are referring to has been and will be going on for years and years. Either it being comments during a match or in one of the many papers.
Tbf I can’t be bothered. I simply enjoy a win and put on a huge smile whenever we win silverware as that for me is the cherry on the media-cake. Same if we get cleared from 115 charges. 115 …

Didn't have much idea or added anything to the game but they seemed to be background rather than the usual tossers having snide digs.

They'd not done much in the way of background stuff for knowledge and they probably didn't need to be on audio...just let the crowd do the job.
Often the crowd drown out the commentary, particularly with a few who tend to mumble, or when their voice drop of at the end of a sentence.
Unfortunately, my vision is not that good, everything is slightly blurred to me. Most of the cameras seemed to be mounted the underside of a Goodyear blimp and players appear the size of subbuteo figures.
I cannot read the squad numbers or clearly make out their faces (to me, so many of our plyers with dark hair and beards all look very similar). With the commentators not describing the action for long periods, it can be difficult to follow the play (I can pick out Haaland though :)

I am personally sick to death of their replays. Endless showing off how many cameras they brought to the game. Just point a camera at the pitch and show the football.

The best coverage I saw was that guy who did the Periscope broadcast from the ground a few years ago.
Wasn't that palace away in the f.a cup.i remember watching it on a dodgy stream.:)

david phillips was co comentator played for both clubs dont know main one but his obsession with goal scorer being OG id guess a dipper
sky production team need a pat on back too showing irrelevant things and replays while game clearly going on its like commercial radio can only play limited amount of music it appears they can only show so much live football
I had to tell my two lads who David Phillips is and when he played for city.
Was the master of the long shot and a damn good player. Did well for us and had a great career.
Had a little giggle to myself as he played for us when we was sponsored by Phillips.
Kids looked at me like I was a tool.

What pissed me off last night was the commentator saying City are struggling without the goals that Haaland scores, and not just once but most of the first half. So basically saying we are a one man band like most of the media write.

Not quite mate, we were sponsored by Philips… :-)

Changed his tune later on.
