An Editor?
Samuel Martin somehow manages to have views that are accepted in here when others aren't from the same publication? If the community shield is a proper trophy or not is surely taking editorial direction to the extreme?

a defender of the indefensible needs to get his words in the right order at least.

Ah bless . I just found this in a blog he wrote a while back , about giving up being a lawyer to become a sports journalist . A self declared Red .

Whilst still a lawyer, I'd started writing for Redissue, a Man Utd fanzine, and as a consequence, ended up blogging for ESPN Soccernet once a week, and those I wrote during the last football season have since been turned into a book, "On the Road: A Journey Through a Season". I've also finished the novel, which will hopefully be out fairly soon.

By their fruits ye shall know them - unfortunately.

Can't help going down the rabbit hole . Also found this, in a review of his aforementioned book titled Misery in Manchester

Well written. I even laughed a couple of times but on the whole the feeling I got was that the author is just a miserable git. The only time he seems happy was not really when United won more when someone else had lost. I appreciate his obvious love for most things Manchester United but his unpleasant attacks on people he didn't like were unbalanced and his predictions have not materialised.

Poor baby .

Gambling Debt. And lots of it.

Loved his betting and really got into cricket when he was over here and would spread bet on games. He owed Manchester and Liverpool bookies thousands.

It got so bad bad he actually asked the club to pay off his gambling debts. The club quite rightly told him to fuck off as we had hardly a pot to piss in at the time.

That's one of the main reasons he hates us so much
There was at least one other City player in the same situation, but he had over £1m of gambling debt he wanted the club to help him pay off.

The level of disrespect to Pep here is absolutely ridiculous. The bias on show is worse than you'd see in RagCafe or RAWK.
Hate filled ****. And not sure why selling a player is automatically ‘binning’ them, especially if you have moved them on for a profit as we did with Alvarez and will surely do with Savinho if he goes. Unlike United will with Hojlund, who is referenced later in the article without that term being deployed.

And the final sentence in the article sums it up, really. Trying to draw comparisons between our recruitment policy and United’s speaks absolute volumes about his objectivity, judgement and intellect.

they're laughing at us again

How would this work to help power fact-based independent journalism?

Would everyone have to donate enough money to provide the journalists at the Guardian (hahaha) with enough money to survive for the rest of their lives without having to type a word again so we don't have to read their lies?

This reminds me, I fancy a coffee. Might go and buy one.

They can keep on disrespecting him if it helps continue the pattern of contract extensions and the inevitable continued path to more trophies !!!

Makes me laugh when I read so much rubbish even from blues on here wining about Pep this and that….Peps fault we lost to Chelsea in the final, Pep’s fault we fell off a cliff last season, Pep’s fault we lost Cole Palmer and many more ……….how about Pep’s fault we’ve been to two Champion Legaue Finals and won one, or Pep’s fault we won 4 - yes 4 premier leagues on the bounce while other teams match our spending, oh Pep’s fault we won a treble, Pep’s fault for the double, yes Pep’s fault we’ve won a shed load (more than anyone else) of trophies over the past …what 7 seasons is it ? Pep’s fault this is one of the most successful periods of football by any club in English football history.

It all Pep’s fault !!! Pep out !!!

Good luck Jack, you played your part but your time is up !

Just read that article - hilarious stuff written by a numpty wow the sports editing standards for the Guardian are hitting new lows ! Pep out I guess haha
