They were told. The Red Cartel, the clubs, the fans, the media, all with their partial, tribal view of the world.. they were told what it was about, what would happen.

But not one of the stupid f**kers (with the odd media exception.. here's to you Martin Samuel!) had the cojones to ask what I've always called throughout my time in management, the 'Sergeant Wilson Question'; as in 'Do you think that's wise, Captain Mainwaring..?'

They were told but they wouldn't listen and they pressed on regardless.

Stupid, tribal f**kers..
Love that.

I also enjoyed your nod to "Dad's Army" which was a great TV show.

Yes. They were warned as you say, but as the old adage goes: "they've made their beds..... "

The latest BS and PR spin from the Scouse loving football media.

No mention of their corrupt and sanctioned shirt sponsor Standard Chartered.

I keep reminding newcastle fans their club voted for it
I seem to remember the Newcastle podcast guy "True Geordie" who recently had a rant on how PSR is hamstringing their club, a few years ago came out with an anti City and Arab "dirty money" diatribe......

funny how times change!

Football fans and hypocrisy go hand in hand shocker :)

I'm stunned at seeing this article in a British news paper. There really does need to be vocal objection to one penny of British tax payers money being put into this greed filled project. They are owned by American and British multi billionaires, they are a company on the New York stock exchange. Why please tell me should we be helping a private company with tax payers money. A company that repeatedly call themselves "the biggest club in the world" Yet they want government handouts.
The entire plan looks a pack of lies. Where are they going to build 17,000 houses ? That's the size of a town.
I think this is all scruffy jims greasy greedy fingers, working deals with his slimy mates in parliament.
Just lets hope there is some people in parliament who actually have some morals and oppose this lottery win for a club with the only ticket.
That's the second Guardian article that's been highly critical of united's new stadium, or at least critical of the use of public money to fund it.

It is surprising to see the Guardian actually being true to its socialist roots for once rather than the metropolitan liberal champagne socialism that it usually adopts, not to mention daring to be critical of united.

The Guardian has never been a socialist paper. It has always been the home of British liberals and still is. liberals with a lower case l.

BBC, Overlap etc join forces to broadcast the Bundesliga. What a combination. Once, I thought one was an alternative to the other.

The Guardian gets it right...

And what’s the PLs position with regard to a club receiving state funding on such a scale. Isn’t that going to distort competition? State funding is a dirty word in football - or does it depend on the state and club involved.

That's assuming all rag stooges support Amorim,as big a tosser as Jackson is he's been one of the more critical of Amorim since he took over.

Jackson saw his arse after he spent ages writing a book proclaiming Solskjaer as the new messiah only for the Rags to sack him just as the ink dried.

Not very good examples, these two, Alexander Arnold went for nothing and the Andy Caroll lookalike when for nearly 20 million less than what they paid for him I believe.

On the back of this, the hand-wringing, bleating and lamenting from the same cunts who supported PSR about how the newly promoted sides are falling further and further behind and how it is so terrible for the game also makes me piss.

Well, if you don't allow owners to open their fucking wallet and spend some cash due to PSR, if you effectually put newly promoted sides in a financial straightjacket, if you stop them from being able to compete in the market for quality players, what the fuck do you think is going to happen?

Quite right but not only does it stop them buying players but it forces them to sell their best players to one of the clubs unaffected by PSR a double whammy.
