Media discussion - 2025/26

Even by ESPN's shit standards this was one of the worst I've heard. Robson saying that the approach was proof that Guardiola doesn't believe his team is good enough, and that he was afraid of Arsenal.

No mention of the injuries, or the scheduling or even the fact that Arsenal have had a full pre season whereas City were at the Club World Cup.

No mention of the fact that City created the better chances and defended very well. Fuck me, the media coverage of football has well and truly jumped the shark now.
A big point being missed by pundits/media , and to an extent ourselves is that peps 'parked bus' was when we were a goal up in a game we were winning until the last couple of minutes.
Not quite the same as turning up, parking said bus from the off and hoping to get a 0-0.

Another thing conveniently missed by the press is that for years, klopps heavy metal football bullshit which they lauded as genius was fucking built on being tight at the back and hitting on the break, so is all these genius 'new' managers like iriaola etc and the biggest one of all who has literally built a team to be tight at the back and nick a goal from a set piece is captain legohead ****.

Also did anyone notice, about half way through the second half Arteta left his coaching area and ran about 20yds down the touchline, towards our goal, picked up a ball from a cone and gave it to one of his players. Not a word from the referee.
All i want is for someone to clean captain black out as they are running down the touchline when he is out of his technical area as usual and just shrug and say if hes on the field of play then hes fair game.

Such a shame they got that equaliser - this piss boiling would have been off the scale if we'd nicked the win.

nobody gave us a chance in that game so ill take it, its already off the scale as it is now with the multitude of articles saying that city are finished and scared blah fucking blah when the reality is that they're shitting it cos city have added another string to their bow, yes we can play beautiful attacking football but now we can scrap with you and play it long to the monster upfront and you wont know which we decide to do.

I used to really rate Henry Winter as a journalist, yes he was occasionally prone to hyperbole but sadly since he was binned by the Times and had to go self-employed he's had totally pander to the red shirts. Every article and comment now is some sycophantic drivel praising liverpool especially. Why do a long article now about a rule that's been in place for well over a decade??

Henry Winter, who ghost wrote ‘auto-biographies’ for John Barnes, Dalgleish and Gerrard writing something pro dippers? Surely not…

Don't think they only hit on the break by always playing neat, passing football.
The amount of first-time balls into space, was never criticised.
When these hit and hope balls occasionally came off, Klopp was seen as a tactical master...

when salah and mane had their best season their whole game plan was whacking the ball into the channels for them to run onto and they called it heavy metal football and tombstone teeth was apparently a genius.

Another match day, another negative article by the BBC, it's uncanny

Seems to be everywhere today. Given admitting that he wouldn’t have been up to the challenge of competing with a proven international and telling us all that Trafford has been ‘sold a pup’ and would never have come if he’d known about Donnaruma.
Truth be told, he’ll play tonight and for the rest of the League Cup, he’ll play in the FA Cup, he’ll play CL if and once we’re through. Meanwhile, he could have gone to Newcastle and been number 2 to Nick Pope!

Also completely ignoring the fact that trafford hardly lit the world on fire before donnaruma came, itd be criminally negligent of the club to not sign a proven winner of a keeper who has just won the cl and is a previous euros winner in order to not hurt someones feelings but the rags and dippers both signed keepers also but apparently thats okay.

Yep, Farteta gave it to his player +10 yards ahead of where the ball left the pitch. The Ref told the player to go back and take the throw-in from the original position. Ref too busy watching Pep and giving him a yellow card earlier to notice Farteta and his marginal gains act.

Correct and if you listen to pep press conference he did say sometimes the other teams can be better than us..

And all the time hes learning from the worlds best keeper

I wonder if a club has been negligent buying a shit unproven keeper from the Belgian league.

Especially as the rags have yet to play the keeper that they bought

Within 5 seconds they thought hard about that ! Surely allowing someone to post a lie on their website must be breaking house rules ? Seems not

Just imagine if you will, Raheem Sterling or Jack Grealish does the same thing while playing for City. The pile on would be of epic proportions. Hes a ****.
