Media discussion - 2025/26

A new year.

Same old Sly Stone, ‘Manchester United reporter’ on BBC United - Mediacity.

Once again he is getting absolutely slaughtered on the comments section by fans of other clubs and United fans who are bored shitless of his United reports.

There's friction behind the scenes at the swamp?
Don't think he has looked happy there for a very long time.
He is very slowly getting them to being a 8/9/10th placed team.
I'd imagine that is not considered good enough for Sir Scruffy Jim, so will be getting lots of pressure from above, to at least deliver some level of European football next season ?
Luckily, the 2 ex-City whizz-kids above him in the pecking order, seem clueless.
So, does he orchestrate a dishonourable exit, like Maresca, or stay and decrease his reputation ?
If Porto or Benfica (under Mourinho) win their domestic League, Sporting Lisbon will no doubt come calling...

put on BBC 5 radio this morning only to find some nauseating discussion about Liverpool terrace songs - immediately switched off

Well, you say that won’t be good enough for Jim, but if you look at his sporting record with other clubs and with his cycling team, I wonder if it actually might be.

Not even a mention of a potential offside for the Enzo goal today anywhere. Not during the match, not on the post-match rundown, not online. Seems very strange considering the "semi-automated" offside graphic was shown at the Etihad. Very strange.

Simple simon at the bbc doing his usual puff piece to big up the rags game at the string of beeds….
I suggest you watch the end of his press conference. That's not a puff piece either.

The entire football media are covering it and rightly so. He will get fired in due course imo. In fact, it looks like that is what he wants.

I’m referring to the pre match article by stone, it certainly was a puff piece.

Unfortunately don’t have the link

I'm surprised this morning that Dermott with his jam jar glasses didn't tell the world that Wirtz was being played on side by Jota.
On our game they bring up the foul/challenge on Rodri and clear it by saying not every foul is a booking.
Well obviously you specky prick but you've only mentioned ONE foul from James in our game, and fuck all about the most contentious incident of Delap kicking an opponent into the advertising boards because he couldn't get the ball.

Nonce loving BBC at again. This mornings NW news had film of rags goal at Leeds, dippers goal at Fulham and guess what, Chelseas goal at City. What is wrong with these people.
The wife is getting a tad fed up of me having a rant at bbc sports, especially in a morning when we are watching a normal tv programme, i went off on one with the above story nailing the bbc again, i am turning into the grey haired guy on Harry Enfield, fuck the bbc!
